I called the US reservation office and they told me that the beach is back between 1100-1400 blocks. I will take it with a grain of salt considering mother nature, but that is hopeful!

I am going on May 7 and usually stay in the 1100-1300 blocks and my parents usually stay in the 1400 block.

They also said the only construction going on are offices in the back of the property but I had read reviews about them doing work at the buffet.

Not to be a pain, but I wouldn't put too much stock in what the people in the reservation office in North Carolina tell you about the beach in Aruba.
The beach is indeed restoring, but take my advice, the people in the reservation office are told what to tell you.
They know much less about the condition of the beaches in Aruba than the people on this board. We at least have walked on and experienced the beach.

As for the construction, first week in April the talk was to have the buffet area and the Palm Grill renovated to some degree.
The expectation was for the first week in May, but the truth is, it's Aruba time.... Manana.

Currently from the web cam at Casa del Mar, which some folks in the past have stated was a fair indication of how wide the beach was at the Tamarijn...

I do not know how to upload a photo..
My cousin is there at the moment she sent a photo ..As in Jan the water was up to the broad walk and under it by the water sports
with a temporary cement bridge thing ..and the beach between both Tam and Divi was up to Palapa .it seems they have some sand now on that side , from the broad walk to sea , So it is better .she also says they seem to be upgrading the outside of blocks 1100to1500.., like I used to , my cousin always stayed at the Tam
But last October she changed to the Divi, and at this Moment ,is in a pool side room on the new section of the Divi .It looks Amazing
Yes Mother Nature is unpredictable I have over 11 years seen the coast of the Beach at the Tam differ ..
alltough we do not stay there due to our own House , we still visit as we made good friends with lots of the staff. They come to visit and where so supportive when we got our own House .

Took a walk down to the end of Tam on Monday,May 16th. The only rooms that have ocean access from rooms are in the 1900-2300 block. Looked to me like they are redoing the rooms in the 2400-2500 block. We stayed at the DiviAI in a casita room that had 2 queen beds- I had asked for a king bed not on the cart path but seeing as we arrived at 11am and the room was ready(and we were only there for 3 nights) I did not complain about the 2 queen beds- next time I will insist on the king bed as I like the set up better in the king rooms.

I know this is a stale thread.... but wondering if there are any new updates or if anyone that will be headed to the Tam in the next several weeks would be so kind as to let us know how things are looking... we'll be back down last 2 weeks of September, and will post some info back for anyone else who may be curious once we have had a chance to scope it out.
