Hello all! I'll be making my first trip to Aruba
in October and had a question:

What are some good restaurants, clubs, bars etc.
within walking distance of the Hotel?
Is Lings close by? I'd like to get some booze and stuff.

Lings is a cab ride away, as are Certified, SuperFood and the new place Kong Fui (sp?) and the new place is on palm beach rd, probably the closest to the westin.

there are loads of great restaurants up in the hi rise area
to name a few
Pago Pago is at the westin.
Wacky Wahoo and Lindas and Sole Mare on Palm beach rd.
Salt n Pepper, Giannis, Daniels Chop House, Amazonnia, Texas D Brazil, Aqua Grill are all in the palm beach area near where the WESTIN is located.

please go to the culinary section and read some of the threads re: your restaurant selection. there are tons of options/selections.

If you go to the map at http://www.aruba.com/TraveltoAruba/maps.aspx
basically anything in the area of Palm Beach, especially west of LG Smith Blvd is within walking distance of the Westin. Real close to the Westin for nightlife is Bugaloe at the tip of the De Palm Pier.

Ling's, in the heat, is not walking distance at just shy of 3 miles. You can ask your taxi driver to stop on your way to the resort from the airport. Another option is to take the bus or a taxi to Ling's from your resort and then take a taxi back.
