Where? If $$ were no object.

Including timeshares and private homes, hotels, apartments.........

    Where would you stay?

    Why?

Would you have children with you?

I would probably opt for the Bucuti or Costa Linda. Bucuti if it were only Paul and I and the CL if we had our grandchildren with us.

Bucuti, i think without much disagreement is the most lovely property on Aruba. I consider many things into loveliness.....the rooms, the staff, the beach, the grounds.
The drawback though, for those with walking/mobility issues, the hike to the water from your spot on the sand is a bit of a hike.
I have an acquaintance with knee issues that had to check out of Bucuti (and Bucuti was gracious about it) and moved to the Hyatt due to the issue of walking on the sand. (Bucuti staff made the arrangements to Hyatt and made a full refund to the woman and her husband)

If I had Kevin, Becca and the kids with me.......I would rent a timeshare unit at Costa Linda.
The beach is terrific as are the units, the pool and the grounds.

Like the Bucuti it is on a nice stretch of Eagle Beach, but the CL area of the beach is narrower and not as much walking.

Bucuti and CL are convenient to restaurants and casinos and some shopping at the Alhambra.

(and i am a LaCabana owner and love that place too...although it comes in 3rd)

I asked Paul what his thoughts were.............and without a blink he said Ritz.
I asked why? He said because i like their casino and valet parking
He then added he would love to walk up and hang out at the windsurfing area to watch, and the Ritz is perectly close to that area !!!

Andrea, those 3 bedrooms at Costa Linda have amazing balconies with private grills and a private hot tub, with tons if seating. If we had a large group, I would love to stay there.

However, money no object, I'm going for the oceanfront suite at the Hilton that comes with its own assigned palapa for the week. I love the location. Another option would be the Hyatt concierge level with a full oceanfront balcony.
Both places, my choice comes down to location, beach service, pools, casinos, and grounds.
7 trips in and still finding things to love. #8 will be great in November!

I would stay in the penthouse at the Ritz. I choose the Ritz because I love everything about the place. I would bring my family for sure.

If money were truly no object, I would rent some sort of huge 10 BR home with butler, chef, housekeeper on staff and have everyone stay together, in separate wings of the home

We had friends stay in the penthouse last Sept. who invited us over for a day/night to see how the other half lives. I think the other half lives pretty well! LOL!! I would definitely go with the Penthouse at the Ritz (which includes their lounge with complimentary food and drinks all day - and phenomenal service!)

Or....I would invite all of our friends to stay with us at the Villa Royale. We toured this last Sept. and it's an amazing house.

Must be on the beach, nothing inland.

The Royal Club Suite 9th floor at Occidental, jacuzzi on the balcony, glass partition.
Double wide balconies, 4 total, 2 bedroom, master has jacuzzi, walk in closet. 2100 square feet total...
Balconies and rooms wrap around the front of the hotel..

And the most spectacular view of Palm Beach, 10 feet from the sand.

Wait, that's my room...This is where i want to stay...

Amy, you have it 100% correct. The club lounge is off the charts...as are the workers. I will miss them when I go in Feb but I need to save some cash...I like living like the "other half" but I am not really part of that group...I just like to visit them on occasion

wow, reading all of your posts and the reasoning behind them makes it hard to make a decision......I always say if I could I would rent the house on the corner by catalina bay...the one my friend says is haunted.....everytime we go past and there are people there the music is blaring, people are in the pool with drinks in their hands and they always seem to be having a blast !!! Plus ocean is across the street !!!!
I think my second choice would be a nice big catamaran so we could just cruise up and down the beaches the whole week, stop at shops and look around, have catered food delivered, etc etc etc......I love being in the water and I think that would be a blast !!!!
