Where to Stay

Would like reccomendations from people who know Aruba & its hotels...where should my husband & I stay for our first trip to the island? We will be going without our children so we would like a hotel without too many children if possible. We are arriving from New Jersey for the 1st week in November. Would love some guidance :-) Thanks!!!

first trip

I would definitely recommend Bucuti Beach Resort. It is mainly adults, beautiful accomodations and on the best beach on the island.

If you prefer a variety of restaurants, visiting the casinos, shops, etc, you may want to stay somewhere within walking distance of those attractions. Then I would recommend Occidental highly. Stay in a timeshare so that you are not obligated to be on their all inclusive plan.

the resort is very nice, rooms are beautiful, staff is Aruban and very friendly and its close to a variety of entertainment options.

If you need any addtional help you can email me at macalh@aol.com

Thumbs up Bucuti - Hands Down!

I have to agree - Bucuti is a great choice! That was where we stayed on our first visit to the island as well. It has been renovated over the last couple of years, and the location and staff can't be beat!

Bucuti is in the low rise area and while there are a few restaurants within walking distance, the bus and taxi option is there to get you downtown or to the high rise area for more activities and dinner choices. We, on the other hand, prefer to rent a car while there so we can explore other parts of the island. Driving is pretty easy on the island.

You will love Bucuti - try it - you won't be disappointed!
