    Where to stay? Help!

    Hi everyone!!

I am looking at different places to honeymoon, and I think that Aruba may be it!!
My fiance and I are looking to relax on the beach and in the water all day, with drinks in hand! We'd like a pool whereever we stay, and also easy beach access. We would rather not stay at an all inclusive resort, because I hear the restaurants are too good to pass up. We don't want to be fighting for an area on the beach. I've heard there are some areas that aren't swimmable, and we definitely want to swim!! We will be going out to dinners, so restaurants in walking areas would be nice. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where we should stay? Anything to absolutely not miss while there? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Check out Marriott Renaissance marina towers. Adults only
Private island is a huge plus. Biat ride tk it right from hotel dock. Also Rennaissance suites, though dated, might work fir you. Walk to lots and lots and of restaurants

What are your dates? My wife and I love the high rise district. There must be thirty restaurants within walking distance. Great shopping also,You can get anything from a pizza at casa tua , ribs at smokey joes or a gourmet meal from at a number of restaurants. I just booked April at Raddison for $199 a great deal. We've been going over twenty years stayed everywhere and prefer high rise now. Have time share at occidental, but that is all inclusive Check out all the hotels I'm sure you will find something leaving april $ can't wait.

We will be going in late june

    Andrea J,

I have read nothing but wonderful reviews for Bucuti....I will certainly look into that.. I love that breakfast is included, and the prices are great. The only concern I have is that it is on Eagle Beach (right?), and I have heard that waters are rough on eagle beach, and also rocky. Also, I am concerned with distance to dining. I have read that places on palm beach are much closer to bars and resturants, and we would rather not rent a car while there, or be taking taxis everywhere. Do you know how far a walk into town is? I appreciate your help!

there are numerous restaurants in that area!all within walking distance.

also too, the bucuti is about 2 miles from downtown, but the walk is hot!

bucuti is very close to the bus route, a 2 minute walk.
the bus goes to the downtown and the lo rise and hi rise areas....all for a few dollars round trip

    and... eagle beach is magnificent
weather systems cause waves and beach erosion at times, but we have never had serious issues with eagle beach love it!!!

    not rocky at all.

    beautiful sand bottom.

In general, Palm Beach is a lot more crowded than Eagle beach, especially around the big hotels. Eagle and Manchebo Beaches (where the Bucuti is) are IMHO, much better. They ar enot as crowded, deeper and rock free.

There are more restaurants in the Palm beach area but some are closer to the Bucuti, downtown and beyond. You have the options of buses and cabs to get around.

We love the Radisson.... there is a breakfast plan available. Biggest hunk of Palm Beach of the high rises. We're always last week of June or first week of July and there is always plenty of room on the beach. The pool is perfect too with 2 zero entry pools. Check MCM/ Player's Choice http://www.aruba4u.com/ for packages.

Welcome to the forum... and whatever choices you make will be the right ones.... as long as it's in Aruba

    And...... Happy Honeymoon!!!

here are some restaurants all within a 5 or 10 minute walk from bucuti

    Matthews at Casa Del Mar
Tortuga at Aruba Beach Club (breakfast and lunch)
Carte Blanche (now located or soon to be located at Bucuti)
    French Steakhouse at Manchebo
Pizza Bob.....adjacent to Costa Linda and Bucuti
Suisse Chalet.....10 minute walk north of Bucuti
Tulip...10 minute or less walk from Bucuti
    Alhambra Marketplace.....Ginger restaurant
Windows on Aruba and Mulligans at Divi Links Village
I am sorry but i cannot remember the name of the new restaurant at the Costa Linda, but it gets good reviews.

Downtown, a 10 minute bus ride away........Yemanja Woodfired grill, Cubas Cooking, Cooks, Elgaucho, Lg Smith , Hung Paradise, Hopi Bon, Cilo, Cafe Plaza, Casa Tua, Driftwood.

believe me.......if you stay downtown or lo rise (eagle) or hi rise (palm).......you will run out of $$ and time on aruba before you run out of excellent restaurants.

i also encourage you to head over to the culinary section and do lots of reading for reviews.
