    Bed topper? Memory Foam mattress?

Does anyone bring a mattress topper to Aruba? Leave it there maybe in a storage bin?

I have a really bad back (crushed the vertebrae in the thoracic & cervical spine after a 20ft fall landing on the back of my neck) and after 10 days or so I woke up in the most serious lower back pain I have felt in years. I'm still not able to walk well and the mass quantities of Aleve I am taking are barely even taking the edge off. Chiropractor says it was most likely the bed.

Anyway - back on topic - do you bring something amazing with you? I use an amazing 4 inch gel memory foam topper at home. I would love to bring it with me, but it's a bit large!

That's right - I have heard of those bags being used, but then how do you get it back in to transport or store w/o a vacuum?

We've been lucky in that we've either had a vacuum or housekeeping had one.

Wow, is this an old injury or recent? You've got to be tough to take a fall from that height and land like that.

I wonder if the hotel housekeeping may provide something. I actually found two inch memory foam cut out and placed between the suite access doors at the Hilton. It was being used to dampen sound between rooms, but it's a sign they have memory foam there.

    Hope you heal up

jacki i am sorry that you are in pain

paul has back issues (lower) herniated disc.
what he does when we go away is bring a twin size air mattress (i think it is a coleman)
and it fits on his half of the king bed of the resort where we stay.
he claims it is a lifesaver.

    the air pump is small.
the whole thing fits in his checked bag along with most of his other stuff.

We've used a wood bed board at Divi Village in the past.

While visiting Vermont we'd stopped into the Vermont Country Store.
The store's catalog showed transportable folding bed boards.
    The online catalog shows it.

Might be a useful alternative for some.

It's a very old injury, from elementary school - climbing the cargo net that hung from the gym ceiling. I'm used to it, but just must have tweeked something either sleeping or swimming or on the plane - who knows.

Try getting the air mattress in one of those vac and seal bags
Most housekeepings have vacuums or hotel might
I store all my winter quilts King size 2 or 3 in one bag stays seal all summer
