    LaCabana Questions

    Hello All,

As many of you know I am disgustingly loyal to the Ritz BUT I am considering trying out something new in Feb. I am considering renting a 1BR unit at LaCabana. For the price (under 1k) I could spend 5 weeks there for 1 at the Ritz during the high season. So now for the question. What is around LaCabana that we can walk to in order to eat. We are super lazy on vacation and the fewer times I put my son into a cab the better...so the more options the more likely we would try it. I plan on venturing down next month and checking out the area but I would love to start planning my next trip now, lol.

Island Grill and Las Ramblas on LaCabana Campus
    Poolside is Sbarro's pizza place

Pizza Bobs at Tropicana next door.

Le terazzana Italiana next door at Paradise Beach Villas
there is another restaurant at Paradise Beach Villas, and I cannot remember the name of it right now.

Mvc Eagle beach's Tulip restaurant about a 5 minute walk south.

Next door at Amsterdam Manor is Passions Beach restaurant and Mango restaurant.

Then....a little further down at Alhambra, and ABC and CDM and Bucuti and Manchebo..........and there are tons or restaurants.

I am moving this to the Culinary Section....

Thanks Andrea. I will check out the menus at these places.

Anyone been into the arcade? No I am not interested for me, more my son. My son and I go to the arcade requently when we are done with the sun for the day prior to dinner.

I think Andrea covered it all. Eagle Beach is just across the road and it's not as crowded as Palm Beach. While there is an onsite mini-grocery store, Super Food is not too far away within walking distance. The Island Grill has excellent food with some generous portions, you also have other options available at Tropicana in the form of Pizza Bob's, and Dunkin Doughnuts. And you also have a Cinebons in the lobby. All in all, you will enjoy your stay at La Cabana.

my guess is that jacki's sons will know more about the arcade than i.
all i can say is that "yup there is one and i have walked past it many many times"
there is an awesome children's program at lacabana and the staff are terrific.

i recommend that you do a walk thru in august when you are on vacation.
speak to some folks poolside and ask their opinions.

thanks vallond...i had forgotten about cinnabon and dunkins

How far is this walk? Is there a sidewalk or path? Is it well lit?

There is a path/sidewalk that runs in front of hotels from Amsterdam Manor to Screaming Eagle. Then you can cross the road to Costa Linda.

Other restaurants that are walkable are Carambola at Paradise Beach Villas and also Screaming Eagle and Zuzuroh.

    sidewalk
adequately lit...i think not much is "well lit" in aruba, except on the main strip in palm beach area.

paul and i have walked this stretch countless times.
we usually have a rental car, but if we are both going to have a drink or 2, and we are planning on being in this particular area...we hoof it.my guess is less than half a mile from lacabana to costa linda, alhambra area.

We have been there. It's a nice restaurant, nothing fancy, but good.

There is also Chalet Suisse located between Paradise Beach Villas and MVC.

We go to Tulip, Zuzuroh, and Screaming Eagle on a regular basis (along with Mango's and Passions at Amsterdam Manor. )
