We walk this every trip when we stay at Costa Linda. Usually, we stop at Chalet Suisse, but on this last trip, we walked to La Terraza at Paradise Beach Villas. It took about 20 minutes. The sidewalk runs up to around MVC. Then its a path. It is lit fairly well in some spots, but not in others. We turn on the flashlights on our phones. As Andrea said, You can cross over to the sidewalk when you get to Costa Linda.
Thank you all. It sounds like there are a number of places we could walk to. I will certainly have to check it out. I think my son would love the kids/kids camp...he loves to meet other kids. I would love not going broke as I continue to explore Aruba as often as possible so it may work out.
There is a small casino on site, right? My wife would want to be able to go out for a bit prior to me heading out each night to play poker so a casino is a must. I am not certain how much I will like going back an forth in a cab to the Hilton but I am considering all alternatives to get me on the island in Feb.
I am getting pretty interested in the "new" experience. I won't book anything till I return at the end of August but I am intrigued. Now if Jetblue would lower there prices so it does not cost over $5500 (just checked fri-fri) to fly my family of 3 to Aruba that would be terrific. I think I have my wife willing to experiment with a new trip but she won't consider not flying direct....I tried to have that discussion but was shutdown quickly and the chances of me paying 5k for flights- zip! My vacation is looking questionable at best for Feb, lol.

I just priced southwest and its almost $3000 less!!!!! Its only $2550. I think I can actually win that battle...lets see, we go away and have to "suffer" thru connecting flights to save 3k and actually go away or we have a direct flight to no place, lol. I don't often even try to convince my wife to change her mind, after 25 plus years together I know how to conserve energy and not waste time- but this one is an easy win for me, lol. I am actually ready to book my flights and just let her complain on the plane as I sleep, lol.

CP- I am with you as far as the money goes...I have zero issues with paying, its more that I don't really enjoy being a passenger in ANY car and actually prefer to walk than be a passenger when possible. I was in an awful wreck years ago as a passenger and prefer not to even be in the seat, I drive myself everywhere except to and from Aruba, lol.

Don't worry about the taxi situation.... I did that most nights from Manchebo.... frankly if we're willing to risk money at the casino... what is a bit of cab fare to do it?
La Cabana is a nice clean property..... and I think jetBlue will be coming around on prices.
LaCabana is very nice. We enjoy it tons. There is also a little market and an Aruba Aloe store, along with a few other stores. The arcade is small, but they cram about 10-12 video games in there.
The activities center has arts & crafts, Xbox, bracelet/keychain making - they are just scheduled activities during the day - new schedule posted each day. They also have basketballs & volley balls you can sign out. They do a pool volleyball every afternoon as well as a beach volleyball. When the boys were really young we would cross the street to the beach with them for volleyball. A few years ago we stopped doing that and completely trust the activities people We've never done the Club Cabana Nana, so I'm not really sure how that works. La Cabana also does a movie night at the pool once or twice a week.
I think everyone covered all the restaurants in the area
