My friend is selling me a week timeshare at the Occidental. Are there any special requirements on my friends part? I don't want to go to Occidental and find there is a hidden cost or we can not use the room. Is it a requirement that you do the All inclusive?

I think you have to pay a per person cost for the food for the week

I had heard that owners at the Occidental had the choice of AI or not. Usually when you rent a timeshare unit, you do have to pay a energy fee and/or hotel tax. At the Aruban Resort where I own it is $9.50 a day for a 1 bedroom unit.

I own several weeks at the Occidental. There are two types of contracts at Occidental. One states that the all-inclusive it 'optional'. The other is mandatory all-inclusive. You'd have to ask your friend what type of conract she has. Other than that there are no additional charges.

What week and type of unit does your friend own. I love the resort and would consider buying more weeks. If the price was right.
