I'm aware of the Members Website for Renaissance (Seaport), however, it is ill kept and rarely updated (and that's being kind). Further, it doesn't allow for owners to chime in, ask questions, rent, sell, etc. it really is a shame, as it is a great resort with loyal members, but the members are treated more as an annoyance than as customers. Note that I am talking about management, not the staff; the staff is great.
Does anyone one know of a site where Renaissance owners can interact? I would love to find one and am even tempted to start one on Facebook.....but I fear that I don't have the time or energy to moderate it. I think that such a site would improve both enjoyment and value for the owners. It is apparent that ownership isn't interested in one for fear that it would expose their shortcomings as well as their lack of respect for the owners.
1. You’re familiar with the first one at http://arubaoceansuites.blogspot.com/ but as you know, that site isn’t very active. It appears to be operated by a “Bob S.” I wonder if Bob is a member here at aruba.com. Kudos to Bob for his efforts, and for keeping the site operational, but there’s little traffic.
2. The second is what seems to be the official Aruba Renaissance Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RenaissanceAruba which is attractive and updated almost daily, but is not specifically for timeshare owners. Like any Facebook page, people can comment. Occasionally there’s an “official” response to a question, but this site is not the kind of thing we’re looking for.
And if Brian von Romondt isn’t replaced, we’ll even lose the timeshare owner’s meetings, for what they’re worth. Any news on that?
find a trusted person that is an owner or frequent stayer at the renaissance suites.
see if that person will begin a Facebook page and name it Renaissance Ocean Suites Aruba- Timeshares.
then once created, add a few photos
then add in a few people as administrators/moderators to share the responsibility.
make sure it is a closed group.....each member has to be accepted (to prevent spammers etc)
then invite as many folks as you can.
those members will know other folks who are Renaissance timeshare users/owners, then thos people will have friends.
the membership will go from 5 to 10 to 100 in a matter of a month or 2.
make certain that yu do not limit to owners only.
many loyal potential members are renters from owners or traders thru interval.
i started one for lacabana and we have 3 moderators and it is easy peasy.
only issue is spamming and the moderators are very much on top of it.
