Please don't take it bad especially because it is a wonderful initiative , but many owners (including me) aren't or don't want to become Facebook members. It's a requirement that will keep away many.

The Facebook approach, though some may not be enthralled with Facebook, has a good audience. The site has over sixty members in just 24 hours. Another site would be fine, too, I just think it would be best if it were "in addition" to the one on Facebook.
I will differ a little here Rob , the Facebook Renaissance group doesn't have a large audience because of Facebook but rather because Renaissance owners got aware of the creation of such a (needed) group by reading about it here on Aruba.com or by owners referrals. Having 2 websites doesn't make the Renaissance group bigger it rather split the audience in two. Also I can't hardly see people posting twice the same info on two website. On the other hand, until the eventual creation of another option the Facebook group is a great idea and sure is better then nothing or the official Seaport website...
The site created by drivr on Facebook for Renaissance Aruba timeshare owners and friends now has 144 members. Check it out and request membership if you're interested. It's a long needed site for exchange of information regarding the Renaissance!
