    Timeshare Scamming

got an email from a forum member this morning

bottom line is be careful in any correspondence re: your timeshare for sale

    Andrea
I have to let you know that over the past 24 hrs I have been approached in what is an elaborate scam. Essentially a harmless email arrives asking about the timeshare and if it is still available for purchase. An offer is then made. This is followed by acceptance of any counter offer. Then comes an email stating a cheque will be issued and requesting name/address to send ot to. Also a claim that Chicago title will handle escrow, transfer etc.and a request to send your timeshare info. The person claims to be deaf and therefore all of the transaction will be handled by a broker

At that point your unit is gone. They claim you will get the money when the broker has all the material

I suggest you post a warning!!! I have the units listed for sale on aruba.com forum

When you list your timeshares for rent or for sale
NEVER NEVER put your email or your phone number.
