all of this sounds about right.

re: every room facing a pool
the pools are in the center courtyard ( a huge area...maybe 1 1/2 football fields in size)
the room that we were in last november was a partially renovated condo unit with 2 bedrooms and washer dryer.
there was a balcony off of the living room and that was facing the street side and also the beach tennis courts and the double down and casino

you need to look at the resort layout diagrams

    1) Every room at this resort faces the pool area. (Which kinda confuses me since someone else that owned 3 of these mentioned a balcony facing the main street??)

    2) Using the washer and dryer cost extra and you purchase tokens at the front desk for $2.00 each. Every load for the washer & dryer will cost 1 token

    3) The kitchenette includes all of the pots/pans/utensils, including dish detergent, paper towels & toilet paper.

    4) Food:
There is one restaurant on property which offers breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is also a wet bar & grille which is open for lunch & daily happy hours too.
Pizza Bobs is located in the center of the resorts courtyard and is open for lunch & dinner.
Baskin Robbins & Dunkin Donuts is located by the front lobby.

    5) WIFI:

The resort offers free wifi in the front lobby & by the pool areas too.
The Aruban government recently selected some of the more popular spots on island with free wifi. one of the areas is Eagle Beach which is your home beach so you will receive free wifi there as well.
Unfortunately there is no free wifi inside the rooms. Prepaid wifi cards can be purchased at the front desk which cost $35.00 per week for unlimited wifi. The prepaid card will provide internet access anywhere in Aruba including your room.

Yea, I did find that map and I had asked him which unit it was. His reply was "The location of the room will be based on availability. Any special request can be made with the resort. Every room at this property faces the pool." This confused me a little since I would be booking with him..wouldn't he be giving me the room he has available? Or do they not assign you a room until you arrive and based on availability? I understand that he has more than 1 room based on him saying I could get a bedroom with a king sized bed or one with 2 beds in it. I just wish I knew what floor it was on and area (like by which pool).

before you send any $ , check with the resort to make sure that
    1. he is an owner
    2. is current on his maintenance fees

if he is a fixed week owner, he will know the unit numbers.
if he is a float week owner, then he will only know the "type" of unit.
(1 bedroom with King, or 1 bedroom with 2 doubles etc)

if his pricing is over $900 for the week, you may be financially better off renting directly from the resort.

Liz...aruba lover, can you add anything to my commentary? hope so!

The based on availability comment makes me think that this guy is trading into Tropicanna, meaning that he owns some place else or is using points. One other thought is that he could be a broker. I rented from a broker a few times, and the unit was assigned to me when I arrived.

i know of a man that owns MANY timeshare units at the trop and other locations on Aruba.
i know that he rents them out and also the trop on occasion uses his units and reimburses him with another unit for another week.
(that is what i referred to as a float)

How do I find this information out? All I have is his first name and no actual room number.

The pricing is only $672 for 8 days.

That's how he was making it sound (like the unit is assigned when we arrive) because I asked if all of his units were the ones that were not remodeled yet and he said yes and that if I wanted to upgrade, that could be done at time of check in and done with the resort.

The only units I can offer are non-renovated and as advertised. Since the number of renovated rooms are limited they can only be offered by the resort. The resort will charge a much higher price as well.

I found his last name...and a web page of his rentals: https://www.flipkey.com/frontdesk/vi...12/david+flak/

Says he's from the US and lives in Aruba now.

$672 for 8 days is a great deal.
add in another $115 or so for the room tax and environmental fee that is paid directly to the resort.

i do not know the guy's name.
he contacted us a while ago inquiring if we were selling a trop unit.
then when the trop was undergoing some difficulties as the Arubaiana (or whatever its name was) he scoope up some more at real discounted pricing.

he should at the very least let you know his name so that you can check with the Trop's management to make sure all is on the up and up.

lemme go thru my files and find my contcact person at the trop.

Yes, he told me the tax/fee was $13/per day, so $104 extra that would be paid directly to the resort (and not him). I did find his name at the end of one of the emails. I posted again (above yours) saying that I did have his name and looked him up and found that he had other properties as well that he has listed in Aruba. (From the US and lives in Aruba from what I've gathered). He has a LOT of feedback on his airbnb site (199 I think) and they all seem to give great feedback about him.
