Great questions. I rented direct from the hotels for a while in the 80s and found the rate and taxes to be so high that I bought many and of course some are larger and cost more and the fees are higher. The thing is some timeshares you select a week and in most cases that is the only week you can use it (without joining Interval another expense but sometime worth it) Other timeshares like my Marriott you can select from a complete season so I go according to best priced airline time and makes it more reasonable. So Todd even after you bought your timeshare each year you have a fee. I will be coming back to Aruba in a few weeks for my 38th trip. I guess you could say I love Aruba.
