it's on my list, but Jon, well not so much. We'll just have to keep looking and it may still be a possibility.

my feathers were a little ruffled, but as i watched their actions throughout the week, it became apparent that nothing made them happy and all they did was complain. they were not only unhappy with us, they were just unhappy people.
We had a similar experience on the beach at ABC which, now that I think about it it is a mix of ABC and CDM owners. Funny how drinking vodka all day makes it easier to tune them out. But that just reminded me how close together the palapas were.

Ugh - I'm going to make this trip happen, and we are going to love it (damn it)...lol

It's an easy stroll to Manchebo Beach...... and lots of shade available.

I stood at Casa Del Mar I believe back in 2010. I had the 1 bedroom unit which is across the parking lot and check in. The units were comfortable and had a very small pool which was always empty since everybody went to the main pool. I hung out at the small pool. The beach was ruff and crowded by the time i got up so I walked to La Cabana and used the beach there, took the bus to Arashi one day, took the bus to Palm Beach another day etc.

When are you thinking of going? We stay at ABC- we do not own but we rent various units from owners in the month of May. We have never had problems with feeling like we are outsiders but I feel like the crowd in May is older ( haha even older than my hubby and I). Most have been retired for many years that we hang with. My husband is very out going and never met a person that he didn’t get along with. I am the quieter one of the two of us so that tells you that we are grabbers! I dislike when people say they felt like outsiders. We have stayed at Costa Linda,ABC ,LaCabana and Tropicana and we have never owned at any of these and we have never felt like outsiders. I loved all of these places and would stay at any of them. Of all of them CL was the easiest to get a palapa and LaCabana/Tropicana was the worst. Last time we stayed at LC my husband was getting up at 5 am to get me shade. That was the worst- crossing the street in the dark trying to find an open one- craziness! This is the reason we switched to further down the beach. We have never stayed at Casa Del Mar. Any how in May we have never had a problem at either CL or ABC getting a palapa but at times the water was to rough to get in for me so I dunk myself in the pool.

We were looking at the timeframe between Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is when we stayed at ABC before. We watched owners be rude to security and workers building new palapas, being very territorial. We also met a few very nice people, so I want to be clear it was just a few bad apples.
The condition of the beach and ease of getting a palapa has steered us in the direction of Costa Linda.

I would stay at Costa Linda anytime-Love it there! I wish they had 1 bedrooms because it was so much room for the two of us- we ended up bringing our friends with us and it was plenty of room for 2 couples! The water there can also be rough- I took a nice tumble getting out one day but that beach is awesome!

the beach in that area as you know is at the whim of mother nature.

we stayed there 2x. the first time was at the ambassador units. the 2nd time with friends sherry and murray and that was in the presidential.

i do like the rooms there. and i have no opinion re: the linens so that must mean that they are acceptable. i remember a place in aruba where the sheets were substandard, and "pilled". it made uncomfortable sleeping.

i don't remember anything about the noise level.

the staff were wonderful and the lady who ran the towel booth was quite a character!

like many of the places one still has to get out early to snag a shade hut

    A little advice:

Don't depend on someone else to make or break YOUR vacation.
