    Blue Residences

Anybody heard about the Blue Residences condos in Aruba?

I was just searching for package deals for Memorial Day weekend and this hotel came up in a nice priced deal.

When I was there in June it looked like they just opened one of the buildings. Trip advisor is starting to get reviews on them, and everyone is complaining about the on going construction.

Can anyone tell me anything about Blue Residences? I'm going there for my honeymoon in September and there isn't much information available. The majority of reviews on trip advisor are positive, but there are so few. I'm wondering if there Is still construction or are all 3 buildings complete now. Also with regards to location, should we rent a car for the week or is it relatively easy to get around either by walking or by bus? Any info in appreciated.

i am unsure if building is complete.
the few reviews that i have read were positive.

the BLUE is on the busline, but it is about 300+ yds from the area where palm beach /hi rise area begins and about 300+ yds north of the Amsterdam manor and LaCabana resorts. the Phoenix is across the street and about 150 yds away.

    a car is not necessary.
again, it is on a main bus route.

i hope that others respond with more info!!

it is probably a 10 minute walk to palm beach/hi rise area.

The main issue that I have heard of is that they don't have a good beach area, and people have been having to go to other beach areas. I read somewhere that they had plans to fix that issue, but there's no telling when that will happen.

We left 2nd June and it looked like some communal areas were being finished and 2 buildings looked complete with one looking like some work still to complete. Sorry didn't take any photos.

Thanks for the info. We have decided not to rent a car right away and will decide if we need one for a day or two as the week goes on. We did book the trike excursion, which we are excited about.

I have also heard that the beach area in front of Blue Residences isn't that great, but we love to walk so we will visit the more popular beach areas and spend the rest of our time at the pool which looks amazing.

Also wondering about currency. We are Canadian so we will have to exchange money one way or another. Is it better to use USD or use the local currency?

One more question. What is the best place to get a few groceries and some wine and beer?

I'm sure I will have a few more questions, so thanks in advance )

The USD is accepted just about everywhere on the island.

Super Food is close. It is on LG Smith Blvd right behind LaCabana & Amsterdam https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bl...2b07b01f37786d

You may want to take a cab - the street is sometimes very difficult/dangerous to cross

Super Food Plaza is close to where you are. They have a separate liquor store with premium spirits and wines within the building and also beer/wine in the grocery aisles.

USD is prevalent on the island but you may get local currency (florins/guilders) back if you need change. We always use a credit card when we can.
