Thumbs up Paradera Park Apartments

We stayed at Paradera Park Apartments in December and were well pleased. The grounds are lovely, the lodgings comfortable, and the owners are wonderful.

Staying inland is a whole different experience from staying on the beach. We recommend it.

Did you have a rented car? Did you go to the beach each day and was there any problem getting beach access??

Paradera Park Apartments

We have stayed at Paradera Park Apartments twice within the last five years and already have our third trip reserved for next Jan/Feb. We always like to travel to Aruba during Carnaval. Debby and Hank are very friendly and courteous hosts. They will reserve a car for you if you desire and somebody from the car rental agency will pick you up at the airport. Paradera Park is centrally located on the island, so all the beaches are easy to reach and most of them are less than 10-15 minutes away. Our favorite was also Eagle Beach, which AuntieMame referenced in her trip report. There are palapas available for public use, and as long as you get there relatively early, you will have no problem securing one. As AuntieMame said, Eagle Beach is never very crowded near this area (of course that might change with the new hotel/condos? going up across the street.).

I would highly recommend staying at Paradera Park Apartments. We are able to stay longer in Aruba because of the excellent value pricing at PPA, and we always look forward to that first cold Balashi!

You do need a car.

We had no problem getting shade on the beach even though it was the high season and after 10 AM by the time we got there.

For more info check out my trip report in my signature.

Boy, as much as I love the beach, with that beautiful swimming pool and what appears to be total serenity, I could be very happy just lounging there all day long...do you have more pool pics? Would love to see them...would love to convince dh to do something "other" than the "resort experience". Just need more evidence to build my case for Paradera or the Amsterdam Manor.

More pool and resort pics at the slide show beginning: http://www.septemberhouse.net/Aruba06/image021.htm

We really enjoyed Paradera. It's true you have to add the price of a car rental to your vacation expense but we always get a car anyway. The owners, Debbie and Hank, are wonderful. We did spend a good deal of time at the pool. Even though the apartments were sold out, the pool was never crowded.

If we go again I want to try the one bedroom. The studio is large and comfortable but it is nice to be able to get up in the middle of the night to read or something without disturbing a sleeping spouse.

And as to expense:
Here's the nitty gritty. Two People, 10 days ( 9 nights) during high season. These amounts include all taxes and tips except for casual tips for services - which was about 100 USD and is included in the total.

The Basics:
Airfare...........................987
Rapid Rover Limo.............98
Lodging Paradera Park 1010
Total ...........................2095

Auto Rental 350
gas............ 28

FOOD:

Linda's (Bk).................23
Fishes & More (D)........63
Garden (D).................44
Coco Beach................30
Chef's Tables (D)........92
Salt & Pepper (L)........25

Auntie mame and I would be good travel companions.
we both keep good records and both really like Paradera Park Apts.

We never stayed overnight there, but visited friends there and loved it.
We were very graciously given a tour by the owners and were treated as guests.
The grounds are lush and gorgeous. The rooms are bright and airy and clean.

Someday we'll stay there!

We probably would make good travel companions.

And, like you, we did see Paradera before we stayed - although we didn't take a tour.

We saw Paradera the very first time we were in Aruba (we were lost - as usual). I remember thinking that Paradera was probably just the kind of place people who really knew Aruba would stay and perhaps we would stay there someday as well.

Then, last year, I saw the good reviews on tripAdvisor. I said to hubby "You remember when we went out the road to Noord and it hung a right and we took the road on the next left and we saw that apartment complex behind a big rock and I said to you that it looked nice?"

Hubby never actually answers questions like that. He just grunts. (secret of a long marriage)

"Well, it is nice. Lets go there for Christmas."

"Okay," he said (second secret to a long marriage)
