Anytime is a good time to go to Las Vegas.

Good morning everyone,

Heading to Las Vegas tomorrow. It's my wife's birthday and I thought, why not? We went there five years ago when she celebrated another significant bday. This will be our fourth time there altogether.

While there are plenty of gambling and entertainment opportunities there (more than pretty much anywhere else in the world), there are two things that really draw us there.

We love the celebrity chef restaurants and the shopping. For her birthday dinner, we're going to Emril Lagasse's DelMonico in the Venetian. We also enjoy Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill and I think we're going there Sunday morning for brunch.

Las Vegas is a shopper's paradise. I have become an expert at finding benches in the Fashion Show Mall and the Miracle Mile Shops.

Everyone needs a little "Vegas" everry now and again.

Oh how I miss Vegas! I used to get out there 1 or 2 times a year - sacrificed my Vegas trips for a family and Aruban Vacations. I vow to get back out there in the next 2 years!!

There's just something about Vegas, that's for sure. My husband and I try to go for a few days every couple of years. I wouldn't make it our big vacation, but for an extra long weekend, or to celebrate a special event, it's the ticket. We're not big gamblers, but we like to dabble. We love the lights, shows, restaurants, history and the all around fun atmosphere. My favorite casinos are the old timers downtown. Speaking of that, we're due a trip there this year!

I was just there last month for my wife's birthday. If you haven't hit the Beatles Cirque show, it's an incredible experience. We managed to hit Ron White's show as well on that trip.

It's never _____ (fill in the space yourself) instead of Aruba! It's always ______, as well as Aruba!!

By all means go to Las Vegas. Make up a reason or for no reason at all. Play, eat, shop, go to shows; do it all.

You might postpone going back to Aruba, as we have done, but there are no substitutes (Vegas, Maui, it doesn't matter) for 7-10 days in Aruba! Ever.

We would probably go to Aruba in May 2013 but checking out
Vegas for November. Also we would fit in Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.

The Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam are great attractions indeed.

However for my wife, America's really great attractions, wherever we happen to be, are Macy's and Bloomingdale's.

I saw Love, the Beatles Cirque show 3 times in 1 year, lol. I love that show. It is wonderful. I've been to Vegas over 40 times (friends live there) and NEVER EVER went to a show there until the "Love Cirque de Soleil" show. I was hooked. I went in Dec, then June and again in Sept, lol. Definitely, defintely see it if you go there.

I love Vegas!!! And you're right, the shopping is the best there but i usually jump in my car and go off strip shopping.

That sounds like a great trip, and a good time of year to be taking it. We went to Vegas once in August (dovetailed it was a business trip), and it was crazy hot. If you plan to take in a show or two, I would also recommend the Beatles show (Love) and The Jersey Boys. Both are fantastic and I'd be hardpressed to pick one over the other. Also, if you have time, we really enjoy going downtown to the Freemont Street casinos and to see the evening light show. We've never gone long enough to see the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam, but I'd like to one day.
