The owner Steve is the son of the family who owns Iguana, Smokey and La Catina in Aruba. Steve frequents the island and helps manage the family business while in aruba. His wife is from South Eastern Mass and they live in Providence. I just arrived back in the Mass. today and will have some drinks with steve and some friends sometime Saturday night. I told steve about the post on aruba.com and he was suprised and was excited someone posted it.

    Aruba comes to Providence

Hello fellow Aruba Lovers. I am very excited my buddy Mark forwarded me this link. First off my name is Steven, known everywhere around the northeast as Aruba Steve. What better name to name my restaurant/bar than that. I have been open for just over a month, we are still working out all the kinks. As of now we are only open from 5pm on, except of course when the BoSox are on! My kitchen Manager starts next week and we hope to have lunch up and running shortly after. Please feel free to come in and try our specialties. Almost every item is from one of our restaurants in Aruba. I have the pulled pork, mahi mahi, jerk skewers and coleslaw, and all of our signature "potent potions." I am even perfecting bitterballen because I have s small dutch following here.

Enough for the first post many more to follow now that I know you are all here!

As for the cold pizza that hurts because I am the one in the kitchen and that should never happen, I apologize, and next time please say something!

After my husband and I traveled to Aruba in 1996 for our honeymoon, we immediately fell in love with the island. Our 2 cats are named Divi and Tamerin so we have a little piece of Aruba with us every day.

    tamarijn and divi nice names!!

we fostered 8 kittens and had to name them.
all named after something aruban or aruba related.
    (madam, janette, tranquilo, etc...)

one of our members here had 2 cats (now in heaven)named after the television and satellite tv) TV and DISH. hahahahahaha
