    Being safe with natural gas

We are away from home right now, but their was a horrible house explosion just 9 miles from us on Saturday morning. It was in a town that borders our city. There was nothing left of a large home, nothing. Someone we went to HS with lives just around the corner and his description and pictures were shocking-more so than what was in the local paper and Philadelphia news(I am told it was on the national news, too, but didn't see it). Four nearby houses had to been inspected before they could go back in. Insulation has been found 1/2 mile away. People 4 miles away were woken by it(it happened at 6:15 am). They owners had a new gas stove delivered that day, but the fire marshal isn't saying if that is the cause, just that it is natural gas. Make sure if you have a new appliance installed that the installer knows what they are doing. Make sure your stove knobs are off and your pilot lights are lit on all your gas appliances. Be careful and be safe.
