anybody have aruba in their travel plans for fri or sat from the northeast?
If we get hit like we're supposed to (2' to possibly 3'), I bet Sunday will be a bad day for travel as well and the domino effect into the early part of next week. It's not supposed to end until Saturday afternoon.
I went to the grocery store early this morning and gassed up the car. Just have to hit the package store at lunchtime. I'm ready!
I live in Maine....forecast is for 18" - 24"......just the thought of it made me book my third trip to Aruba!!!! Not until October, but as I'm digging out, ok, watching son and husband dig us out, I'll be counting the days!!
Wonder if any lucky folks will be stuck on the island a few extra days? Hope everyone stays warm and safe through the storm. The DC area isn't supposed to get anything - thank goodness - people here go nuts when we have 1-2"
I'm scheduled to leave on Monday morning. The plane was empty when I booked but I think it will be full by Monday. I'm leaving from Philly and they are only suppose to get around 6 inches at the airport. Desperate people will be connecting through any city to get to the warm weather. Can't wait. Hubby is coming down on Thurs. Just in time for the President's weekend rush.
Boca Catalina, Arashi Beach Manchebo Beach, Eagle Beach

Get and save receipts!
Lots of folks here at Costa Linda are stuck. The resort is full this week and next, so people are scrambling, trying to figure out what to do. I imagine there will be some rooms available tomorrow, since many people won't be able to fly down here on Friday. Some of us may be doubling up to help out.
I am scheduled to leave Sunday morning out of Newark, NJ. All I can do is hope for the best at this point. I am sure the airport will be full of stranded travelers and the line-up on the runways will probably be quite long. These are the ups and downs of winter travel! The sun and sand will be amazing after dealing with a blizzard!!
