Expecting up to and maybe more of 18 inches on Long Island, stocked up on wine, beer, vodka and goodies!! Have tickets for a show on Broadway tomorrow, if the railroad isn't running we may loose tickets - they rarely cancel shows on broadway!

Have a friend flying to Aruba today. She was booked on United out of PIT through Newark. In passing I said to her yesterday morning "maybe you should be pro-active and change your flight before they start cancelling flights due to the storm". Needless to say, she didn't and we ended up spending 4 hours trying to get them rebooked after she received an email yesterday at 1:30 informing her the flight had been cancelled. She was on hold with United for over 2 hours before she got an agent. At first United wanted to book them on Saturday. She really didn't want to lose a whole day (who would) and they ended up having to fly from Toronto, which was a 5 hour drive for them early this morning. Good luck to all of those who need to find a new flight!!!!!

Our favorite place on the island, is the great beach at the Boca Grandi. The water is the best, and its very quiet.

We're sitting here in the blizzard thinking how wonderful Aruba will be in 25 more days. There's about 12'' of snow on the ground here at 8:15 pm. The weather man said there's a good chance of 30''s here just southwest of Boston.YUK, YUK, YUK.
Wish we were sitting down in Aruba enjoying a Balashi right now.

Are they staying at Costa Linda? My husband met some people in the elevator with the exact same story. If so, they made it here but their luggage didn't.

Definitely a nasty storm. The snow is blowing sideways. The wind is howling (like Aruba ) and the worst of the storm is yet to come. Wish I was in Aruba right now. This makes you want to book a trip to Aruba that's for sure.

Well, woke up and it's still snowing!! Good thing I know where I parked my car l yesterday, because I'd never find it this morning. The snow is drifted right over the cars in the parking lot of my complex. Weatherman says we have about 24 inches of snow in our area. Doggie didn't want to go out this morning and she loves the snow. Lot of power out but luckily we still have ours. So wish I was in Aruba right now. Think I'll watch the Chronicle show on Aruba again this morning. Be safe fellow New Englanders!

Up very early this am to find all doors blocked with snow. Had to take the glass in the storm door out and shovel from inside out. The puppy now has a path to do her business! Lost power around 11 last a night but feel very fortunate to still have heat and our wind up radio since I didn't think to get batteries. Also have my charged up IPad so I can at least look at my Aruba photos while I try to postpone picking up that snow shovel.
