Burger/Fast Food joints (not aruba related)

i started a thread in the culinary section of a 5 guys opening in palm beach across from the radisson.

i do not want to take away from that thread and the purpose of it: notification and reviews of that particular 5 guys.

this is the place to talk about fast food/burgers and that kind of stuff.

i am not a burger fan. i love meatloaf and i love meat balls.....flatten them out and make a burger and not so much.

that being said, my fat self has eaten at many burger joints and has had take out from many.

what are your opinions on burger fast food joints?

my favorites are:
5 guys veggie burger
wendys salads
mcdonalds french fries
wendys frostys with m&ms
checkers chicken wings
burger king nothing
subway[U ]nothing
[/U]

We don't do fast food except an occasional Zaxby's for chicken. I enjoy their chicken wings VERY much!

Dh and I oppose Chick Fil A for moral and ethical reasons and will NOT patronize them.

Our family recently tried Cheeseburger Bobby's and loved it, much much more than 5 Guys. Their burgers are made fresh daily and french fries also hand cut fresh.

It is not their food that is bad it is a moral issue that we have an issue with.

What would you think of a Christian organization that readily endorses and supports placing foster children in their own group home and does not wish to see these children adopted into "real" homes? You know my dh, he said to tell you that I was very diplomatic in my wording.

chik fil a's upper mgmt/owners seem to be the ones that need some sort of moral guidance. (instead of being the preachers and setting the guidelines)

i will not set foot in one.

Favorite: In N Out
Favorite mainstream sandwich: Wendy's (spicy chicken)
Favorite mainstream fries: McD

I've hit the Chik-fil-a at the airport, and I really don't get the appeal. Fries aren't bad, the rest isn't even halfway decent. And please, don't get me started on religion. I try to get along here.

wow, could agree with so much here but:
hate mcd's anything,
hate burger king anything,
tolerate taco bell,
enjoy some of wendy's stuff-salads, singles, and choco frosty,
since arby's took over roy rogers almost everywhere i can't stand them
checkers is too heavy greasy tasting
ckik-fil-a is a no go for me on any grounds, lol
subway is tolerable but they all taste the same except the meatballs

5 guys, in n out and fat burgers all do fresh ground beef and fresh cut fries. that suits me.

I can honestly say that I haven't stepped foot in a fast food place in over 10 years. Most of their food is bad....bad for you and bad tasting (of course, this is just my own opinion. )

But obviously many people love them because they are EVERYWHERE.

Just not my cup of tea. If I do want a hamburger, we will either grill them (using lean meat) in our own backyard or go to a local neighborhood bistro that knows good food. Much better tasting (again, just my opinion.)

I always say that fast food is the dumbing down of America's tastebuds. LOL! Of course my other beef (pardon the pun ) is the rise in American's cholesterol levels and diabetes. Put down the bun and fries. LOL!

So who has tried the Counter? 312,000 burger combinations?
They advertise 100% Angus, antibiotic and hormone free beef.
OR you can choose chicken, veggie or turkey. Either way a unique concept for a "burger joint". We enjoy it.

Not fast food exactly, but...

Best burger is a joint in Malvern, PA called The Classic Diner, where the burger is the best bar none (IMHO only). Tastes like a delmonico run through the grinder.

Then there is John's Roast Pork, Philadelphia, Roast Pork, Cheesesteaks... absolutely awesome... see...

and...

Wow, now I'm really hungry.
