Cabinet moths

Anyone know how to get rid of these little buggers. I cleaned out all my kitchen cabinets and found a couple nests (I think) in some of the food items. Didn't see them for a couple weeks now they are back

take all of your packaged food (cookies, cereal etc) and put it in the freezer overnight.

wipe out your affected cabinets with a 4:1 water and white vinegar mix.

most stuff in ytour cabinets can be frozen.

we had this problem a few months ago.
it was bugs/moths that came in with sunflower seeds that we use for the birds.
EVERYTHING went into the freezeer............cereal, cookies, birdseed, bisquick, oatmeal, flour, sugar, cake mixes , crackers, chips, pasta.....EVERYTHING.
of course everything did not fit at the same time.
it took us 3 days to get all the stuff done.

we did not reload the cabinet until all had been frozen.

Can you store your seed in your garage in rubbermaid tubs (to keep the rodents out!) LOL, with the amount of seed we go through, our cabinets wouldn't have any food, only seed.

during the winter we store the seed in rubber maid tubs in the garage where for the most part the temp is frigid.

quite often the seed from agway gomes in with bugs so in order to make it non buggy we freeze

Hi,

It's better to clean your cabinets with a good furniture polish in between times you actually wash with soap and water. Oil Soap is also a good cleaner for your kitchen cabinets which keeps away moths.
