Canada

Ok, I am planning a small trip maybe about 4 days to Niagra falls. Can anyone lead me to an inexpensive, clean hotel for me and my family... I don't have a clue about Canada; so any information would be wonderful

Haven't been to Niagara Falls in 25 years but why not check trip advisor? Curious though, why did you pick Niagara Falls?

I looked at all of the websites, but unsure of where to stay. I have never seen the Falls, is there somewhere else we could stay and have plenty to do?

Sorry I have never been to Niagra so I won't be any help but just for fun when I read your part about not knowing anything about Canada I thought of this, hope it makes you smile if it makes sense.....to us it is really funny. Appropriately enough it started from a beer commercial

Hey,
I'm not a lumber jack
Or a fur trader
And I dont live in an igloo
Or eat blubber
Or own a dog sled
And I don't know Jimmy, Jally or Suzie from Canada
Although I'm sure they're really really nice
I have a Prime Minister not a President
I speak English and French not American
And I pronounce it about not "a-boot"
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack
I believe in peackeeping not policing
Diversity not assimilation
And that the beaver is a truley proud and noble animal
A toque is a hat a chesterfield is a couch
And it is pronouced "zed" not "zee" "zed"!
Canada is the 2nd largest landmass!
The 1st nation in hockey!
And the best part of best part of North America

My name is Joe and I am Canadian!

I had my own travel business as a bus tour operator and brought many groups to Niagara Falls. I never booked a hotel in downtown Niagara Falls as they were more expensive. I would assume you will have a car so I would advise you to look outside of town for cheaper rates. I stayed with my groups many times at the Quality Inn in St. Catherines http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-st_c...sstate_country=

There was nothing around there except except a supermarket across te street. But my groups liked it as there was a bowling alley in the hotel that gave them something to do at night. The hotel was basic but nice with a good restaurant.

If you plan to spend time in the Casinos, you will want to stay downtown by the falls.

A few blocks from the falls is the Best Western Fireside. It looked decent when we rode past. Check their rates. As already advised, check Trip Advisor for rates and cleaniness.

I don't know how many days you will spend in the area, but please give enough time to go to Niagara-on-the-Lake. You won't be disapointed. It is so beautiful. The town is nothing like Niagara Falls. When i bought groups there, people on my trips trip told me that they had been to Niagara Falls many times but never heard of Niagara on the Lake. They were amazed when I brought them there. It's very easy to get to. About 1/2 hour on the Niagara Parkway (the main road). You pass wineries and fruit stands which is fun to stop at. Give it a Google.

Marriott has a couple of hotels, both pretty good.

You have to check out the wineries just north of Niagara....wonderful. Suggest the tour of Hillenbrand. Try the "ice wine".

Niagara on the Lake is a nice quaint village.

Thanks so much,
I did not want to stay too close as I know the cost will be more. I appreciate your advice and will look into that hotel. I have never heard of the falls on the lake, so this would be a must.
thanks and I will keep you posted.
