Cats and toys

Why is it you can spend all kinds of money on cat toys but they like bags and boxes the most?

We used to say the same things about our kids when they were babies. They'd have as much or more fun with the bows and paper that wrapped their presents than they would the toys inside. Of course, that never stopped me from buying them toys, and I'm sure cat lovers can't resist purchasing a new squeaky toy for their little bundle of fur either.

Some presently favorite toys in our household

Ours are have pockets to refill with catnip

These mylar "puff balls" are a real favorite but beware they end up under the stove, the refrigerator, the china closet...you name it, they can get it under it...

...and the cheapest, the most popular...silly ping pong balls

and of course the requiste cat tree.

I have almost all the same toy's and also a kitty condo for my babies and they have their own toy box but put a plastic bag down or a empty box and they will entertains themselves for hours.

Looks like they're ripe, it may be time to pick them.

LOL , old photo taken about 10 years while we were in temp housing. The fellow on top is too old now or is it too lazy to climb up. The black fur ball on the bottom was chosen to go to kitty heaven on Monday.

lisa, so sorry again about your cat, but all those toys, gee, can I come over and play. I have a dog ( Lab ) , his favorite toys are balls, any size ( when he wants attention-he'll grab anything, bad that way )

Sorry about your cat Lisa. It's so hard to lose a pet!
This is my cat sitting in the bathtub waiting for me to play with her. She has a little stuffed animal tied on a shoe string that I flip the shoestring into the tub and she attacks it from behind the shower curtain. She'll also play with a milk ring in the tub for 30 minutes plus!

Thanks all. Each day gets a bit better.

Our kitten used to love chasing a ping pong ball around the tub. Now that he is a cat, I think he thinks he is too sophisticated. But not too sophisticated not to lounge in the sink.
