if we all email doris, that would open the flood gates.

while discussing "doris" this morning, lisa was telling me that today alone she had over 300 spam emails between her 3 accts.

this morning i only had 40 spam emails on my 1 act.

like the junk mail we get in the mail, there is not much we can do except dump it.

i can guarantee you that aruba.com does NOT share/sell/give away any of your private information including to but not limited to your email acct.

...also, nothing says zarki_doris@yahoo.com is a valid email addy. Spammers disguise their email addresses and can have the email forwarded to another email address. You answer the email and it validates you have a correct email so they can send you even MORE spam!!!

Best bets are to ignore, block or I use "rules" for my inbox which depending on the words in the email or subject, we all know which they are without going into the ugly details, send the spam directly to my spam folder. Then at my leisure I can scan the emails to see if anything important slipped through. Best I have been able to come up with.

One good piece of advice i got was when forwarding an E mail , such as the joke ones we all send to our friends, make sure you strip out the other addresses on it. Some of them I get have been forwarded a dozen times or more. If a spammer gets one of these, they can get hundreds of email addresses off it.

I would think that the email hosts would KNOW when they have a spammer using their services (sending 100,000 emails an hour should be a good hint) and shut them down.

These guys flood the net with these things, costs them next to nothing to send, and all it takes is 1 in a million to respond and get taken to the cleaners to make it a profitable day.
