I'm behind here and just catching up reading posts. I was in Columbus most of last week with my son who was trying out for the Ohio State University band, and even though I did a lot of dropping off, picking up and waiting, I was somewhat electronically detached.
He made the band!!!!! and will be a member of what they call B Row!! He already knows he'll be at the bottom of the "h" when they do script Ohio. Their first performance is at the away football game at Virginia Tech, so I don't think I'll get to go The band has also been invited to perform at the NFL game in London this October. I'm so jealous. He's going to London before me and it's another performance I'll miss. Again,
It worked out that both kids needed to be taken to their respective colleges ON THE SAME DAY! Last Sunday DH took DS south to OSU to begin his college career and continue practices with TBDBITL, and I took our daughter east to Clarion U in Pennsylvania for her junior year.
Needless to say, it has been an emotional week. One last (but now DH and I can go on a trip whenever we want; haha, with what money?)
Seems like Ohio and VA Tech always play on Labor day weekend. I watched the game at Moomba last year! Congrats to your son for making the band, I was a band nerd in high school... some of the best memories of my youth!
