Oh My Gosh!! Tracy, how sad and upsetting for your family! I'm so glad that no one was hurt. I'm only one hour from there, so please let me know if I can do anything to help them out. I didn't realize that you had family in Louisa. My parents lived there for 40 years, and we just moved my brother from there last spring. Seriously, if I can help them in any way, please let me know. Dianne

Actually, if you know anyone with a rental property that allows dogs, that is the most immediate need. They want to be in Mineral or Louisa as my dad will likely do the construction project management and he can't drive. We are reaching out to everyone we can looking for temporary housing for them for about a year so they can be close as they rebuild.

The fire was electrical in nature and we are thankful it didn't start while people were home. They have a doggie door so their dogs got outside and a neighbor kept them safe.

My parents just sold their northern VA home a few months ago and are now full time lake residents since my dad is losing his sight and had to stop working. They have a long road to recovery ahead. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. This week has been difficult but the support from friends and family helps.

I'm running errands right now, but when I get home I'll contact some people. I'm so glad that the dogs got out. Check Craigslist for rentals in Louisa, Mineral, and Bumpass, although Bumbass might be further than he wants to go. A lot of people list rentals on Craigslist.

Yes, I have been watching craigslist for Fredericksburg, Richmond, and even Charlottesville and have reached out to a few realtor and even vacation property management companies. We have a few leads to follow up on so far.
