I cannot even begin to imagine what these poor people are going through. This tragic event has touched everyone. I hope now our government will finally outlaw these weapons once and forever. How can they not? I challenge anyone to come up with a reason that ANYONE other than the military needs this type of weapon. I am so sick and tired of people saying our constitution allows us to bear arms. I'm sure our forefathers in the day of muskets with one bullet could have foresee the weapons we have today. Again, no one needs these type of guns. Although I'm not a fan of any gun, I will give the hunters their due, but why do they need a gun that shoots more than a few rounds - do the deer and bears have guns? When I was talking to my son about it on Friday, he agreed with me but said - Mom, we have to help those who are suffering from mental illness too - point well taken Eric. There are so many suffering out there and it's very difficult to get them the help they need. There was an interesting article published by the Huffington Post by a mother who was struggle with a son with mental illness and she is afraid of her son going down this road. It's called - 'I Am Adam Lanza's Mother': A Mom's Perspective On The Mental Illness Conversation In America. Life just isn't the same anymore.....God bless those little children and the teachers who tried to protect them.
