    Here's a question:

Does the new health care initiative apply to members of Congress as well as so many other federal employees?

    Survey says......!

And that's all you need to know about who is in power.

    Rob O,

    Their participation is VOLUNTARY.

    Your participation is MANDATORY.

Gee 44 ....wonder how many will participate?

By the way....got a memo from HR today indicating that company health care benefits will have to be reported on the W-2 form.

Anyone think that there is ANY chance that this will result in an increase to my taxes? ANY chance?

    OBAMA....YOU LIE!

    Rob O,

Charlie always said, "Politicians are like diapers and should be changed frequently for the same reason."

Stay calm. Besides people like you are the ones who make the lights come on. Without these skill sets things grind to a halt. Slowly, but surely. And then, well, who's driving the bus?

Doesn't Aruba have what you call "socialized" health care? As we do in Canada.

My understanding is that (I am quoting this from a WHO article) that the US is "one of only 3 OECD countries to not have some form of universal health care" "the other 2 being Turkey and Mexico" "Mexico establishing theirs in 2008"

I guess my conclusion is to avoid this system all together the move is either to Turkey or an under developed nation.

I guess if our Canadian system is wrong I am okay with being wrong. I hope that the US can sort this all out peacefully so that everyone is happy.....okay most everyone, I know you can never make "everyone" happy. Have a great day everyone

Don't forget that the House snuck alot of "extras" into the HealthCare Bill. They did take out the lovely Cornhusker Kickback for NE but still included the "Louisiana Purchase" and a new hospital for the state of CT. And....

They were able to sneak a student loan provision into it when it was sent back the Senate. Private lenders are now eliminated from the student loan program - it will all be gov't issued. What do student loans have to do with healthcare?????

    Too much gov't control.....

    Amy,

You are correct. And with the signing of this law, the United States government effectively controls more than 48% of the American economy. All they need is one more domino and the US will "officially" become a socialist nation. This is what was at stake in the last election and the people voted for it, which comes under the heading "be careful what you wish for..."

As for the option of "avoiding" the system. The choice is not between moving to Turkey or some other country. All one needs to do is seek out a private facility. For example, a doctor from India is building a massive hospital complex on Grand Cayman. There are other facilities around the world of a similar nature.

In the end, the American experiment was a brilliant, but short-lived one. Our regularly scheduled program of human tyranny can now continue without the nagging annoyance of freedom getting in the way.
