    Enjoy.

Tons of great ideas. I'm sure that I can figure something out now.

Good thing that the DW has no urge to be on this forum, or the surprise would be gone. I am thinking of just getting up in the morning and telling her to pack a bag!

The Sprucepoint Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Book one of the Seabreeze rooms (1,2 or 3). www.sprucepointinn.com Every time we've gone, someone is getting married at the place. Drive into town and go to one of the bars on the pier for a good ol'time and dance your buns off! Take a sail out to sea or check out a whale-watching cruise. If you go July 4th weekend, they shoot some great fireworks over the bay. There are some fantastic shops and restaurants in town, or order room service at the Inn and hang in your room. You can make a reservation in the diningroom and they usually have live entertainment on the weekends. The food is great and you can get a couples massage at the spa. Drive to Ocean Point (15-minute drive) and walk out on the rocks over the Atlantic for a phenomenal experience. Orrrr, just sit on your private porch with a drink, watch the waves crash and the sailboats float by, and listen to the lighthouse in the distance. WOW - how's THAT for an advertisement!

If you want to try Bermuda -- we fly out of Boston twice a year on Jetblue (they also fly direct from Newark) -- very quick flight that gives you most of the day there. We've discoverd Sandpiper Apartments in Warwick on the south Shore -- not fancy, but clean and friendly (and way less expensive!) We take a cooler of frozen meat, etc. that we check through, and cook on the grill by the pool most nights, as eating out there is really expensive! Each unit has a nice kitchen. (request a quieter room in the back as the night traffic is noisy) A usually deserted beach is an 8 min. walk, and the Swizzle Inn South Shore is 3 buildings away! a new grocery store next door should be open now. Bus passes are a deal, and get you anywhere you want to go on the island, including ferries!
We're going to Aruba in a few weeks, but look forward to Bermuda again in October!

my first vote is for an island....anywhere in the Caribbean....or why don't you get on the internet and check out Pass-A-Grill...it is by St Pete beach in Fla...you could stay at the Don Cesar hotel...big pink monstrosity, but absolutely the coolest hotel in florida...romantic, on the beach, great history...and haunted (supposedly)....bunch of us girls spent a weekend there on one of our many weekend getaways and loved it....plus pass-a-grill beach is beautiful, there are some nice restaurants there as well as quaint little shops....let us all know what you decide !!!!!!

Well I finally decided on Vegas. The airfare is the best there, Seattle there are not enough flights to get home at a normal time.

So I spoke to my parents to watch my kids for the few days and they agreed. I made plans, I booked the room today so we were all set.

    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to visit my parents and what does my father say during conversation "...like you are going to Vegas for your Anniversary". Everything went quiet... I looked at him and said "You Jacka$$" and just started banging my head on the table. Then he says "well I thought that Seattle was a secret not vegas" I was like "are you serious". So now the surprise is gone. DW knows what is happening, but I am holding from here where and what we are doing..

Just had to vent a little!!
