Lisa...heard yesterday afternoon that Monmouth U has cancelled all classes for Monday & Tuesday, also by yesterday afternoon they issued a evacuation for AC Cty up to Ocean City, Mantoloking & Bay Head. This is only volunatary at this point. We had a Mandatory evac for Irene in PPB.

Sorry folks, Lisa knows these towns, LOL!!!

I'm so excited to have these extra days! TG I have a timeshare at Playa Linda starting Sunday although was going to check in on Tuesday, so we only needed a room for tonight. Got The Trop for 83.00, not bad for only 1 nite.

We stayed at the Trop our first 2 nights in Aruba when we added on a couple days. They have a nice pool set-up there. So glad it worked out for you to get extra days!

Here in the DC area we are bearing down and getting ready, watching the news and waiting. We lost power for a few days earlier this year when that wind storm (dericho) hit. At least this time it won't be 100 degrees outside. I will say living in a 7th floor apartment is not the best when the elevators aren't working. Hope everyone stays safe and the damage is minimal!
Not sure when, but we will be back

This is posted on a radio station website in Raleigh, NC. Sorry, I couldn't get it to fit in a smaller pic. Maybe Andrea or Lisa can reduce the size.

Monmouth U. IS our alma mater ; )

ANY place in Aruba is better than being in the middle of a hurricane. Rode out one hurricane in Mantoloking when I was a kid and numerous T.S's and Nor'easters and they were not much more fun.

No power + 7th floor = PHYSICALLY fit!

As of the NHC 2 pm update, there is a great chance of Sandy being a hurricane than being a tropical storm as of 8 am Monday.

Tropical storm winds and rain are sufficient enough to do a lot of damage.
Keep in mind the damage from this storm is going to be heavy (tropical like) rains as well as uprooted trees, downed limbs and the fact that the trees still have leaves which makes them heavier than a tree without leaves

we already have a block plan for sharing generator power for the sump pumps so we don't get floods in the basement. more people have generators this year than last year but we will all work together if necessary.

    Andrea,

Have you heard anything about the condition of Renaissance private island? Is it eroded? Open for business? Will be there Friday.
