we didn't get much rain at all and am surprised and thankful we just had flickering of lights but no outtage. we are in union county, nj. lots and lots of tree branches. last nite the wind was howling and branches were falling on the deck and front. the house was shaking. i'm glad i moved my car to the street instead of the driveway because it would have been pounded with tree branches that fell. we still have everything in place just in case but its quiet now. the jersey shore is a mess. my SD lives down there but she was smart enough to come up here yesterday morning since the bay is in her backyard. lots of branches and tree limbs to pick up. less than 4 weeks to go for Aruba. i'm just glad we weren't there during this because I would have been so worried about my animals......

Hope everyone in the danger zone is fine..

We were very fortunate..... 15 minutes w/o power last night... and then the moon came out and the sky cleared.... this was an hour after heavy rain/wind! Some other communities didn't fare as well with some still w/o power. I too wish I was in Aruba. Hope everyone trying to get to Aruba gets there safely!

I was shocked to see the photos of NYC Can't imagine dealing with all the flooding. We were fortunate, just branches to clean up. Hope everyone else made out ok.

We made out okay here in the DC area. There are some trees down and power outages, but for the most part we fared better than expected. There are some flooding issues, but mostly in places that are used to high water in storms. we are felling very blessed.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We know, now, how hard hit you folks in NJ;NY; RI; CT, and other New England States...most likely, Massachusetts too. We here in N. Va., were so lucky with little damage...mostly from falling trees; and flooding.

Along with Andrea and the rest of the "Aruba Forum Members," we send our thoughts and prayers that you are safe and have little or no damage.
