I just learned that there is an "ignore" feature. How useful!
This Forum's primary purpose is for the sharing of information related to Aruba; at least that's what I believe. It is a source of information and fun, especially for those of us who have a need to live vicariously while thinking about our next trip to paradise.
Unfortunately, this being 2015, there are some folks out there who are "hypersensitive" and, perhaps, paranoid. While a forum such as this cannot tolerate rude or abusive behavior, we go way overboard these days being "PC". It is virtually impossible to say anything of significance without running the risk of offending someone just looking for problems.
if you find me to be offensive at times, do us both a favor......use the ignore feature. I refuse to let "PC Paranoia" cut my tongue out. Lighten up, enjoy life, have fun, grow up, don't ruin things for others.

Cindy, I joined your Renaissance fb page a few months ago and I'm loving it. We added a week at Renaissance on to our next stay at Costa Linda. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. And as for the ignore button, I'll never ignore you or Rob. I love hearing your opinions on the island.
We love you, Rob and Cindy O! Ignoring the two of you would be like trying to ignore a teddy bear. You are both just too cute. Keep posting, chatting, and sharing your love of Aruba. You have many, many fans on the forum.
I can't imagine ignoring anyone on this forum....... some give chuckles..... some get eye rolls.... some get 'whatever'...... some are really looked forward to! And I'd hate to miss anyone's trip report.... so keep posting!
i was making the ignore feature "known" as some of you may not have been aware of it.
(see IGNORE information on the top of each category as an ANNOUNCEMENT)
oftentimes, it is unnecessary to use that feature because there are folks who just choose to not read what some folks have to say.
for example, i have been told by a couple of forum posters that they choose not to read my postings and they have me on "ignore"
that is fine by me.
i in turn, am bound as a moderator to read EVERY posting that appears.
which is good....sometimes
and here i go on a ramble ....(which is a reason some choose to ignore me)
it is imperitive that all of us be respectful of ALL opinions.
this forum is not only know for its information, but it is also known as a kinder more gentler forum.
we take pride in rising above nonsense, pride in civility and respectfulness and pride in the fact that we all share our aruba knowledge.
When I first joined this site almost eight years ago, it was quite a treat to be able to keep in touch with our beloved Aruba. At that time, we really had few alternatives for keeping in touch. Since then, options have multiplied as have our friendships. This site, while still important to us, is just one of many ways we now keep in touch with Aruba. Our most valued contact is with friends on the island, through e-mails, texts, Facebook and phone calls (I don't do Trip Advisor, too big, too impersonal, not a go to place for those who want to stayed focussed on just Aruba).
CindyO and I love to share our experiences and passion for Aruba. And while we've learned a lot over the years (at last count, 220 days spent on the island) we still learn constantly. That's why I still participate, to learn, share, keep contact with friends, make new friends and, mostly, to have fun. When it is no longer fun (or if I'm not allowed to have fun) it will be time to say "bon dia, bye bye".
PS.....if anyone cares to become a "Facebook" friend, just PM me. I'm easy to find me there as I'm the only person on the planet (not just Facebook) that I know of with my first and last name.
