I think the only saving grace was that this happened on a weekend. On a weekday the population swells from a population of 49,000 to 270,000. The rest is unimaginable.

i always, whenever a disaster happens here, send money to Noah's Wish which is an organization that helps animals in disaster areas (we so often forget about them). They will accept anything, not just money. They'll take leashes, carriers, anything except food and NEVER send you things for donations during the year, never. They are always on the news when a disaster hits.

I can't wait to see how much foreign aid we get for these people to help them rebuild.
