London 2012 Olympic Games

I don't know about you, but I'm mad about the Olympics -- Summer or Winter. Unusually for a Brazilian, I like the Olympics way more than the soccer World Cup, and one of the most amazing things I've ever done was being a volunteer in the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

Too bad I can't just stay at home and watch every competition I can... so, who's going to follow the London Olympics? What are your favourite sports? Who are your favourite athletes?

Here go my medal predictions for Team Brazil:

These ones claim to have medal chances, but would surprise me if they actually get one:
track and field, men's 4x100 relay

when the swimming quals were on a few weeks ago, i was too busy to watch.
suffice it to say, florida gators are sending some great swimmers.

Good luck with your Brazilian team....although we all root for team USA, we wish all the athletes the best....and hopefully for our adopted island of Aruba they bring home some medals as well !!!!
Will be sitting in front of TV watching as much as I can....can't wait to see opening tonight !!!

How wonderfull, Here I am in the UK watching the openingof the Olympic ceremony, and one of the first out to parade, is the Aruban Olympic Team in there loveley red outfits with the Aruban Flag, not many of them but Hey Ho did I feel proud of them.Lets hope they all do well for Aruba, I am sure all on this site wish them Good luck along with our own countries ...

Governor Fredis Refunjol meets Aruba's Olympic delegation

As they are preparing to leave for London, Aruba's Olympic delegation visited Governor Fredis Refunjol at his offices this week. They were sporting their official uniforms, which will be worn at the Official Opening on July 27.

The delegation consists of Daniella van den Berg (swimming), Jemal Le Grand (swimming), John Henriquez (weightlifting), Hugo Themen (trainer weightlifting), Roy Mezas - Aruba Olympic Committee president and Nicole Hoevertsz - International Olympic Committee and secretary general of Aruba's Olympic Committee. A fourth athlete, Jayme Mata, is currently completing his training in Spain. The delegation presented the Governor with items from the delegation's uniform, which were designed and produced by Totto.

me thinks it is all about ryan lochte

imo phelps does not want it as bad as lochte

phelps is great, spectacular, but is distracted and not in zone.
maybe phelps IS the distraction.

mark spitz went out on his high.
phelps maybe should have done the same thing.

i find it unforgivable that Phelps posed with the bong. so many of the age groupers looked up to phelps and he blew it in my book. (kinda like tiger woods did with his many many sexual indiscretions)

I don't think Brazil can beat USA mens volleyball team but anything is possible at the top level in that sport.

There is a reason USA is ranked #1

The only thing I can add is that smoking probably hinders Phelps performance whereas sexual indiscretions did not enhance or hinder golf play unless it was a positive mental influence to his ego which psychologically gave Woods an advantage?

I'm glad Lochte beat Phelps tonite....helps too that Lochte grew up close to where I live. He made Upstate NY proud tonite!!!
