The first "official kickoff of summer".
Some have BBQ plans, Some have plans to visit their departed and spruce up the graves with spring flowers, Some will participate in Memorial Day Armed Forces events in memory of those that served.

I have the privilege of driving the Grand Marshall of the parade this year. She is a veteran of World War 2. She is 50 year member of the American Legion Post 24, Canton Massachusetts.
We are able to enjoy the wonderful life we live today, due to all our active servicemen ,and women, and veterans of our Armed Services.
Please think of them as you enjoy your great memorial day weekend.

like you, i wish my parents were here to see our son.
I miss them every minute of every day
i want them to know they did well. i turned out not to be a screw up and their grandson is a wonderful loving and successful man.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our fallen heroes. They and their loved ones will be in our hearts and prayers as always this weekend.

My Dad landed on the Beach of Normandy on D day!! He was in the 4th Division, 22nd infantry.
