Talking Mercury is retrograde and things are screwy

Therefore, my Monday went like this -

First we went to the eye doctor for hubby's appointment. But we were a day early! His appointment was for Tuesday. As we have to go to the neurologist Tuesday, we had to re-schedule the eye guy for Wednesday. With me so far?

Since the eye doctor is close to an Inspection Station (hubby has been meaning to get the car inspected all month) we decided to get it done. We waited in line about 20 minutes. When we got to the top of the line the inspector greeted us with a smile. Glad to see us, he said cheerfully, but our car wasn't due for inspection until next year.

Geeze.

Dunno if anybody else is having these probs, but Mercury goes direct on November first.

Think I'll stay home 'til then.

Retrograde just means the planet appears to move backward in the sky.

According to astrologers, things governed by a retrograde planet go screwy. Mercury rules contracts, appointments, clerical type mental skills (and other stuff)

Tuesday was better except that the neurologist had no staff in her office and couldn't find my chart.

Auntie, did she continue with the exam, or did she make you go home because she needed the chart? Hope she saw you anyway. With the price of gas I know we are not doing any extra trudging around.

Okay, speaking of neurologists, I saw mine a couple of weeks ago.

His receptionist was busy doing my paperwork and the phone rings. The doctor says, "I'll get that for phone for you!"

A doctor who will answer his own phone? What's up with that? Never saw such a thing before.

I know he is a nice guy which is why I like him.

However if he is willing to answer his own phone does that make him just a nice guy or does that make him stupid?

I've come to the conclusion that the doctors in my town are only in it for the money. My "primary care physician" tells me I have aortic reguritation (traces of blood leak backwards in through the valves when it should be going at a constant fowards flow because my valve slams shut) so I am suppose to be premedicated for all dental work for fear of infection. Ok so I am three months into my pregnancy and my dentist gets a letter stating I no longer need to be premedicated. Red flag for me. I call the doctor and they tell me oh you'll have to come in for a office visit (office copay) before we send you back to the cardiologist (bigger copay) for a recheck as per my obgyn. So I decide to just go on a referal from my obgyn to a certified cardiologist becuase at this point I'm not feeling the concern from primary care doctor. I go to my appointment at the cardiologist (bigger copay) and he does the tests with the end results that there is nothing wrong with me heart and I never should have been diagnosed with this condition in the first place. So basically I'm ok but he wants to recheck after the baby is born. Money Hungry Doctors I tell you..the sort of stress you really dont need when you are pregnant and the hormones are flying.. haha

Has my husband been lecturing you? That is HIS big beef with the doctors. My beef is getting the run around having to go doctor to doctor. Talk about time consuming?
Anyway, good news for sure with your "new" diagnosis. Congratulations on your pregnancy and upcoming nutptials.

Kelly is unfortunately right about many doctors.

I've finally acquired a set with whom I am quite happy. My funniest acquisition was a new GYN, my old one having retired. She was recommended to me by a surgeon. The surgeon is Jewish. (He wears his yarlmuka in the office.) He recommended Parveen Rasheed. She is a Muslim from Pakistan.

Only in America !!

My next visit will be to a rheumatologist whom I have not yet seen, sort of. I went to grammar school with him. I'm taking our third grade class pictures. In third grade he was VERY impressed with me - because I could throw a spiral pass with a full sized football.

And yes, Lisa, the doc could see me because the info was in her computer.

Ah, now there is a truly modern office. Even here is the heart of the south, I found a GP and ENT who are both paperless and I love it!!! There is nothing better than being able to email your doctor a question.

It is funny how doctors come into the exam room with their little laptops now instead of charts and paperwork... they sit down at their little tables and plug in their little laptops and take out the little pen and away they go... sometimes its annoying that they spend more time playing with the computer and not actually finding out what is physically wrong with the patient..
