As I sit up in bed waiting for my daughters to wake, it's 6:30 am, up my thoughts are on Aruba. It's not that I wish Christmas away, it's that the kids are older and the Christmas changes in importance. Savor the moments, time flies.
When the girls were little, like 10 years ago, we would always be up long before 6:30, gifts would be open with paper strewn all over. Baby dolls turn into Barbies, Barbies turn into gift cards to the nail salon, gas cards, Ugg boots....
Our common bond today is not the gifts, it's our trip tomorrow. We all feel that way.
How lucky we are to have this island. It's a bond that binds our family together and all of our friends on this site.
I have to stop and savor this holiday and it's importance.
Enjoy your day friends, savor the moments, time flies.
Well said, CindyO. I'm so happy we have each other, and that the girls still love being with us even though they're 21 & 22 and both in grad school. I think our Annual Aruba trips were important to our family bonding.
I'm making my (packing) list
I'm checking it twice
