will not start up

the lights come on

but the screen does not power up

same thing on battery power or plugged into ac

it is now 3 yrs old

i am wondering if the battery is so dead that is does not allow even the ac to work

anyone have suggestions?

wondering if i should try a new battery to see if i can get power to get the thing running

If you remove the battery, it should operate off an AC adapter. Can you hook up an external monitor to the back?

Try removing the battery for a few minutes.

we have no monitor (got rid of our desk top pc yrs ago)

yup removed the battery, no luck

off to the computer guru tomorrow to see if it can be brought back to life

if not.............

eyeballing a macbook pricey though.
