    My part of town weather....

Good morning from RI. Our weather update.... 6-8 inches of snow expected, gusts, visibility and power outages are our concern. Hoping my friends south of here are doing ok!!

We have relatives in Aruba right now. They are supposed to be flying out this afternoon. AUA to Boston at 5 ish.
Feeling like they might have problems getting in. Hope they are seeking alternative plans.

How is everyone making out elsewhere?

We're in Quincy, Ma. The weather forecasters don't sound condfident in their predictions. I'm hoping no more than 1 to 3 inches. Logan has cancelled more than 150 flights because of weather in the Midwest. My in laws are in Aruba (Renaissance) but fortunately they have another week. So, anyone who is in the middle of this, stay in and be safe.

Just south of Washington DC here, and we are getting slammed. I would guess we are about 15" now, with no signs of slowing or stopping for about 10 more hours. It's so windy!
Last year I remember seeing all the posts from Peg and Cindy and others to the north. I never imagined it would happen here. We have no plans of going out this weekend, unless Jon decides to take his snowboards out. He's been trying to shovel every few hours so it doesn't get out of hand. We just have a townhouse so you wouldn't think it would be so bad. I plan on spending the day here on the forum and looking at our Aruba pictures to pass the time!!
Our neighbors are having a little pot luck later so we will probably have some drinks and make the best of it.

It's raining and about 33 degrees here in Virginia Beach. Good news is I'm flying to Seattle tomorrow and I'll get to warm up.. temps there are in the upper 40's to low 50's for the next week or so. Take care and stay warm everyone!

I'm about 75 miles south of Tracey. They took the brunt of this storm. We have about 7 inches this morning, but it is supposed to continue to snow until late tonight. Our snow turned to sleet last night until this morning, which kept our snow totals lower, but made it really icy. The winds are very strong today. Our son in law is supposed to fly to Calif. Sunday am. The airline cancelled his flight yesterday, but rebooked him on a flight later in the day Sun. We'll see if it happens. We leave for Aruba next Friday. The long range forecast keeps changing. All models showed ice on Friday last night. We change planes in Atlanta, which looked clear. We were thinking about flying to Atlanta on Thursday and spending the night, so that we could get ahead of the storm. This morning it looks just like a rain event. We'll keep a close eye on it. I'm willing to deal with the change fees rather than lose a few days in Aruba. We lost three days six years ago, due to snow. There's a lot of risk in traveling this time of year. You just have to make your reservations and hope for the best. It becomes quite a hassle, but when we get to Aruba, we know that is so worth it.
