Arrow Need Suggestions for All Inclusive

Not Aruba...airfares are too expensive ...MUST be all inclusive...
5 kids, 8 adults
Somewhere in the Caribbean for Christmas...
Kids stay and eat free a HUGE plus...but not required
Folks flying from NYC metro, MIA metro, ATL (Jet Blue or Spirt desinations may make airfare less expensive?)

I looked really heavy before deciding on Aruba. I was looking at DR, but way too hot in the summer. I had a place all picked out. I will try to remember which it was!

Thanks am researching DR & Jamaica . Rui Mambo gets good reviews and a two story resort is perfect for my elderly grandmother. It really seems the darn airfare is the key.

In the Caribbeans, the best island for all inclusive are DR and Jamaica. There are some all inclusive on other islands but the smaller the island the worst the airfare is because of connections. DR is less expensive, and the 2 chains hotel that due well for children are the Barcelo Bavarro, and the RUI.

Do the DR and Jamaica both have vendors selling trinkets on the beach and hounding you all day long?

Better beach- Puerto Plata or Punta Cana?

No, neither in DR nor Jamaica do they have people bothering you like they do in Mexico. They will have some days vendors come to the resort and sell on the beach or on premises.
Punta CANA the best

0I stayed in Beaches Sandy Bay (JAMAICA) last year. I enjoyed myself. I have to say that I liked the beach better than Aruba's.... Sorry for saying that.

Locals are not allowed on the beach as there are security guards on each side.

The only reason I dont want to go back to Jamaica is that the ride to Negril from the Airport is HORRIBLE! It is about 1 hour 20 mins away. And if you have ever been in a taxi in NY city........ well it is 100 time worse. They drive on the wrong side of the road to pass people, they will drive head on, and then change lanes at the last minute.

With Beaches, you can use either resort either Sandy Bay or Negril when you want. Negril is the one that is newer, but much much more crowded.

If you are interested her is my review of my stay there Last Year.
