    GO PHELPS!

NBC is saying the Mom dropped down because she thought he lost. The sisters were watching the clock though and set her straight.

Dara Torres makes us 40 yo's look pretty darn good.
And I might add, imo, her sportsmanship was outstanding in aiding her competition.

amazing watching dara torres and yes indeed her sportsanship was commendable. a true role model for many young and not so young women.

when i was her age a decade plus a few, i swam like a fish always trying for yardage and better times. now i never watch the pace clock, never count my yards and rarely swim for more than 40 minutes at a shot. she is an inspiration and she too deserves tons of recognition.

come on ladies, let's get in and start pumping out some laps.

What a proud moment for all the olympic swimmers. I look at Phelps mom and my eyes well up for her. It just goes to show a kid with ADHD is no more different than any other kid.

Andrea, curious your thoughts on whether Ms. Torres would have had a shot at Gold on the 50 free or the medley if her events had been spaced further apart. Either way with her fine show of sportsmanship the night before she IS gold in my mind!

i did not see the split on the 50 free in the medley relay for torres

if i were the coach i would have done it the same way and have put her in the 50 free and then 30 minutes later the medley relay

she was pumped imo and i think one could have not expected or gotten more out of her on either event.
