politics

eeew a no no topic?

so let's see where we are today

hillary has no chance unless obama's campaign implodes.
obama has it prretty much mathematically wrapped up.

and john mccain is coasting along hoping that he will be president..........keeping his distance fron george w.

(disclosure, i was a hillary fan, then flip flopped to barak)

and i do really like john mccain, he is honorable, experienced, patriotic and a real gentleman that is not afraid to show anger, emotion, kindness and sarcasm.

but historically...............this is really a BIG deal no matter who we want to win.

a black american is undoubtedly going to be the democratic candidate
will his running mate be hillary
will his running mate be edwards? (who imo seems like the kindest most genteel man i have ever listened to)

or will al gore be drafted at the convention ?

funny thing is, remember jfk lost votes as people did not want a catholic president.

omgosh, this is 2008 and we have a black american as a candidate! and maybe with a woman running mate. we have come a long way baby and it certainly is about time isn't it?

no matter who wins in november, so many hurdles have been crossed and there is no looking back.

now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast.

No, not as long as it stays civil and there are no personal attacks. Imo, "try" to at least stay "mostly" with facts to back up our "hype" and we can EDUCATE one another.

All the exact reasons why the man has my vote. This will be irregardless of who his running mate is. His most liberal choice for a running mate, imo, would be Lieberman. Mc Cain would still get my vote. I don't agree with everything either one does or says, but imo, Mc Cain has the best overall qualifications for the job at hand.

Obama is my candidate as I just cannot vote republican.

Also too i am not wild on McCain's conservatism, pro-life views, and his immigration views and the war in Iraq.

Hillary lost my support as it became clear to me that her husband became more of a ball and chain for her. If he had shut up more, then i suspect many folks would still be on her bandwagon.
Also too when I had met her in NH a few months ago when i was still in her court and she turned me off with a certain air of arrogance and entitlement. I hated the fact that the first thing i thought of was that she was "bitchy". My God, this is 2008....here is a bright articulate woman, history is being made, and I am thinking she is coming across as a bitch. I was disappointed in myself for thinking that, but it was a real feeling that i got then.

I do think she is a BRILLIANT woman.

re: the few nasty PMs that i got for starting this thread.

The intent of the thread was not to debate who is better and why we are or are not voting for who/whom.

The intent was to mention about this is really a BIG HISTORICAL DEAL.
All of us, young or old, black, white or any color inbetween, immigrant or usa born....................this is a huge deal.

A woman
A african american man
A war hero

we have made huge strides.

that was the point of my original posting

Andrea

It is indeed about time we had someone other than a Caucasian male running for the highest office. We are way behind the much of the world in that respect. (I was disappointed that Colin Powell did not run a few years back. I would have voted for him. Might have voted for Hillary this time. Can't vote for the uber-liberal Obama.)
