I agree with Andrea J.

Politics is an interesting subject. History is being written in America. As an Aruban citizen I watch and monitor the American politics very closely as I know that the next president you (americans) choose will have a big impact on my wallet. I hope you all make the right decision.

Ps. is more than 100 post not considered to be much these days anymore on forums and blogs???

Salsa Greetings,

Reggie

Whenever I hear a politician promise "change", all I can think about is my money being changed into someone else's. Guess where my vote is going.

"Reports: Edwards rules out vice president slot
Jun 6, 6:51 AM (ET) By PAUL HAVEN

MADRID, Spain (AP) - John Edwards has ruled out being Barack Obama's running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket, according to interviews carried by two leading Spanish newspapers on Friday.

"I already had the privilege of running for vice president in 2004, and I won't do it again," Edwards was quoted by El Mundo as saying. El Pais, the country's other leading daily, carried similar comments.

Edwards, who ran for vice president under Sen. John Kerry four years ago and was a presidential candidate in this year's Democratic primaries, had been named as a possible running mate for Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Calls by The Associated Press to several Edwards aides went unanswered and independent confirmation of Friday's reports was not immediately possible.

Edwards praised Obama as a "visionary," the El Mundo interview said.

"We don't live in a dream world and we have a lot of work to do," Edwards was quoted as saying in comments the newspaper translated into Spanish. "But Obama's potential is unlimited."

Edwards, a former senator from North Carolina, was quoted by El Mundo as saying he would do anything possible to help the Obama campaign other than joining the ticket.
He also had kind words for vanquished Democratic hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose supporters have suggested she and Obama would make a "dream ticket" if the Illinois senator selects her as his running mate.

But Edwards said only Obama could make such a choice, and he urged him to pick somebody who shared his goals and governing style.

"Hillary Clinton is a great force in the Democratic Party and in the United States, whether she aspires to the vice-presidency or to another position," he was quoted as saying. "She is an extraordinary woman, and the role she will play depends only on her and Sen. Obama."

While in Madrid, Edwards met briefly with Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and other senior officials. He spoke Thursday to a U.S. business group in Barcelona.

Edwards dropped out of the presidential race in late January following a spirited - if underfunded - populist campaign in which he pledged to stand up for the poor and powerless against corporate interests.

Both Obama and Clinton vigorously sought his endorsement, but he chose to stand on the sidelines until May, when he finally endorsed Obama.

Obama claimed the mantle as the likely Democratic nominee on Tuesday after the final primaries in Montana and South Dakota. Clinton is expected to formally concede on Saturday.

Obama will go up against another U.S. senator, John McCain of Arizona, in the November vote to succeed President Bush."

Uncle Dave shows good insight.

So, my editor says to me that she wants Hillary and Liberman to run together as a third/independent party. I said, wow, don't know if anyone thought of that but I'll be in my writing cave for the next nine months. Let me know what happened and if its safe to come out.

I was hoping for McCain to pick Liberman. So, what does he do??? He picks Barbie! Great....four years as a City Councilor (population 9000), four years as mayor (same City)....and 20 months as govenor of Alaska? Twenty months? Alaska? That's his choice to lead the USA in the event he doesn't live to see his 76th year? Thanks John...

What's a voter to do? Give me a third party candidate or I vote "no preference".

In a surprising revelation, John McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said Monday that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter, Bristol, right, is five months pregnant. McCain's aides said the GOP presidential candidate knew about the pregnancy before he selected Palin.

and to this i add.............nothing.

I have been talking up Palin for VP since she first came to my attention in early July. I believe that she has the strength of character, the courage to stand by her convictions, and the moral fiber that defines a truly great leader. She brings meaning to the empty slogan of CHANGE that has become BHO's hallmark. Joe Biden?, just more of the same old inside the beltway bs, and I believe that Lieberman would be percieved in the same light. I think that by opting for Palin, McCain has given himself a much greater chance of victory.

Barbie?, don't fool yourself; more like Wonder Woman, just ask Ted Stevens.

Oh oh....I was going to add my 2 cents until I read Uncle Dave's.....now I figure I will just rile (sp?) feathers....But, just one comment.....Who would allow someone to go into Wikipedia to change their profile so people see them in a better light?? Either you have something to hide or are so insecure that your original profile can not stand up to scrutiny.......I know that is trivial, but if that is the first thing you do after being asked to join the presidential race....sorry I have a problem with that....you know>>>priorities.....
