I had heard that wikipedia thing too; so I checked what it said and her profile had been updated toreflect her current status as VP candidate which is only natural. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of her earlier profile to see what she was trying to hide, I would love to see one so the before and after could be compared.

Joe Biden?, just more of the same old inside the beltway bs, and I believe that Lieberman would be percieved in the same light. I think that by opting for Palin, McCain has given himself a much greater chance of victory.

Barbie?, don't fool yourself; more like Wonder Woman, just ask Ted Stevens.
If not Barbie, maybe the main character in Legally Blonde....Elle Woods. Perhaps with 10 more years of experience for her, I would agree that she has the qualifications. Right now, I just can't take that chance. The bigger issue is that if this is an example of how McCain will pick his advisors and cabinet....he did not send a good message. If he needed a woman on the ticket....and apparently he thinks he did....I am fine with that, but I am sure that he could have found someone with a far better background.

As for the "other guy"..... "change" has become the most over used word in the English language. Great speaker, no question...as for depth and substance to what is said....I am apparently missing something that everyone else is seeing.

Can't we ever get good candidates?

Good luck to whoever wins....I'm too disgusted to care anymore. Hand me the remote...it's football time!

I promise that this is my final post on this subject; I just tend to get a little bit worked up about this election because for the first time since I have been able to vote, Virginia is considered a swing state; so for once I feel that my vote will make an impact.

Otherwise Robo, I'm with you; they whole mess disgusts me and thank God election day is on aTuesday so as not to screw op MNF (steelers @redskins 11/3).

uncle dave and rob

go for it the conversation is GOOD
you and rob and others have tons to say and it is nice to see civil and thought provoking bantering.

i too feel that especially with this election, my vote will count more than ever.

again, banter, joke, debate, yell, pound your fists and discuss.
(civilly of course as everyone's opinion counts)

your debating may get others to join "your side".

me, i think i am "fixed" on Obama/Biden. That is unless the debates tell me otherwise.

Well yesterday morning the local radio station ( kiss108)went off on a banter of Sarah Palin. It made me laugh....Matty in the morning says," Well, sarah palin next yr at this time will be a FOX network announcer, with contacts, boob job and have lost a few lbs"....can I picture this...YES...I just hope the press lets up on her and her daughters situation, which IMOP, is a hands off thing...

Okay, one more thing about Palin.....yelling reform and then using Lobbyists to get money for you state is forked-tongue thing....guess you need that in politics...of course I could also say Biden is a male chauvinist (sp?) pig....but thats another story.....
Thought I might be swayed to the Pied Piper....(Obama),,,,isn't he a charismatic speaker....??? But am not sure, yet.....

Well, I lied; after watching Palin's speech twice tonight I just had to comment. I can only hope that enough people in this country can somehow wade through all of the jingoism, sloganeering, and empty rhetoric of the dems and vote McCain/Palin in Nov. She is Joan of Arc, Queen Victoria, and Dagny Taggert all rolled into one. To use a phrase that may be seen as not PC, she is one tough cookie.

I admire and respect self-confidence; as an example, the whole abotion issue. I do not know for sure, but I beleve that a large majority in this country are the so called pro-choice (which really means pro abortion but pro choice sounds better). Sarah Palin is unabashadly pro-life and proud to admit it even though it is a stance that may hurt her in the voting. In other words, she has the courage to not only say what she believes, but also believe what she says.

BHO, on the other hand, cannot even give a straight response to a simple but important question," When do you believe that life begins?"; at the Saddleback Forum a few weeks ago. Above his pay grade!? Are you kidding me? That is the question that is at the center of the whole abortion issue, the reason that it is still a hot topic 30 some years after Roe v Wade. I don't care what your reply is; at conception, after 90 days, when fingers are visible in an ultra sound, at birth; at least have an opinion and be brave enough to put it forth. If you don't have an opinion on when life begins, then how can you possibly have a stance on abortion.

Sorry, got worked up, going to Vegas to blow off some steam. 'till Tuesday....

Sorry to say this pro-choice, abortion rights, Roe vs. Wade have nothing to do with how I will vote...maybe I won't even vote....I think thats all a very personal thing, and doesn't belong in politics.
