On November 10, per my request, Andrea closed a thread that had chronicled my October eye injury and carried “get well wishes” from many of you. That was my last post until now. I had promised that, when I felt better, I would post on a new thread and, thus, here it is.

First, to all of our friends on the Forum, here’s a big “thank you” from me and from Cindy for your friendship and support. It’s been a challenging time, and the concern of others has helped.

Today we had our twenty-second trip to Boston, over the past six weeks, for a doctor’s appointment. I won’t provide any details, preferring to keep them private. The eye is fragile, the vision is pretty good; the eye won’t be perfect but it will be “OK”. Some would consider me lucky.

I am lucky in many respects, the most important of which is CindyO and my girls. Cindy has been absolutely amazing, and I shall never forget the love and support she has shown me through this time.

Now, for the news I’ve been waiting to announce: doctors have given us the “OK” to go on our Aruba trip! Given that we have no more doctor appointments until December 22, barring the unforeseen we’ve cleared our last hurdle.

Aruba here we come. December 11 through December 20. We really need this trip!

Rob, that is such wonderful news on so many accounts. Most of all with your eye and second with your long awaited trip to Aruba!

Glad to hear that things have improved enough to enjoy some time in the sun. You certainly deserve to enjoy yourself a bit after all you've been through.
