andrea
Hi everyone, it was Rob who got hurt sat in a company softball tournament.
He was pitching and got hit with a line drive square in the eye.
He was taken to Mass general and then to Mass Eye and Ear sat afternoon while I was college shopping with #2 daughter. We got the call and headed to Boston. He stayed in the ER for 27 hours while they waited for a plastic surgeon and eye trauma team to arrive. He can't see right now but hoping an praying that his eye sight returns. His eye is full of blood and the eye ultrasound says the retina is intact. The problems that we face right now are blood in the eye, eye pressure, cornea staining, and frankly eye sight.
He had 25+ stitches up the side of his nose and had to have his eye brow reconstructed as it was blown apart. He looks like a boxer.
We have upcoming appts with the retina dr, glocoma dr, eye plastic surgeon and the trauma team in the next week.
We are in the right place as this hospital is world known. The dr's so far have been great and caring.
We had an encouraging visit at the appt this morning. I pray that he will be fine. We also have an upcoming visit to aruba in Nov. which could be affected.
I thank all that sent good wished and prayers for the "unknown" forum member. I will try to keep you posted.

Thanks to all.....appreciate thoughts and prayers.

Making slow progress....but, any progress is good. Can see shadows now...that's better than before. No sign yet of permanent damage....hopefully time will fix everything. It's the blood in the eye that needs to resolve itself.

Doctor says we could be good to go in 2-1/2 weeks.... I intend to go unless I am told that it's dangerous to fly. That's two things to pray for....eyesight and Aruba trip....in that order.
