Rob O and family, I just opened the site and saw the news about your eye. What a terrible accident, so traumatic. Hey, you've got the best dr's up there in beantown...AMEN to that! Wishing you a healthy and healing week as I see your trip is coming up. Hope you get on that plane!

    Continued thanks to all.

This week, I have seen, first hand, the extremes of mankind....good and bad. Fortunately, far more good.

    The good:
My co-workers, who called 911 and followed up magnificently with cards, calls, e-mails, gifts of food.
Friends and family, who have shown their concern.
Professional competitors, who have sent gifts.
    Neighbors.
My Aruba.com friends of course, most of whom have never even met me....a classy bunch you are.
And....first and foremost.....the Doctors and Staff at Massachussets Eye and Ear, who just might have saved the eye. Their professionalism, talent, concern, bedside manner have been top notch.....and Thank You God for giving them the guidance and talent to help.

    The bad
American Airlines....look up corporate greed, oversized impersonal corporation, heartless in the dictionary and you'll find their corporate logo. They are despicable. In my 56 years, I have never dealt with a corporation thet treated their clients with such disregard. I look forward to the day that I pick up the news and find that AA has failed. If anyone out there has found even one person with a heart and brain at American (hopefully, associated with the rewards program) and has personal contact information, please PM me.

Because doctors cannot see my retina due to blood in the eye, they are unsure if I may travel safely.

On May 1, we acquired four tickets (Nov 6-13) through AA rewards program (25,000 miles from each of 4 accounts). These are "low season" tickets. Low season ends November 14.

AA says I may rebook my tickets for another low season flight to the same destination if the new flight is within one year of purchase. Guess what.....if low season ends November 14 and doesn't resume until June....there are no more low season dates before May 1. When I asked if I could use more miles and fly high season they said OK....but I would have to pay a $150 penalty per ticket plus additional miles. That's $600 to re-book. Nice offer, no?

Yes, please share what the WHAT is AA doing about your tickets? Did you file a complaint or are you just going? what do your dr.'s say about flying with your type of injury??? So sorry that this is stressing you out when you should stay calm! Plz share.

ash.....I think our posts crossed paths....see my post time-stamped two minutes before yours.

I am hoping to go....would rather delay for about 3 to 4 weeks; I think it would be safer. Will waste tickets rather than risk permanent damage.

    Too much stress.....
